Walked on Sunday in Komen Walk -Run in Central Park
Afterward, we went out to a great place for brunch where we were treated with lots of special attention and care by the staff who recognized my team cap (the hospital where I work and receive my treatment) and the very obvious "Survivor" label on the crown. The best part of the day was the satisfaction that I acheived my donation goal and was able to "give back" to others who are currently receiving treatment and those yet to be diagnosed and treated, not only by walking to increase BC awareness but by my involvement in Komen sponsered research on quality of life in BC Survivors.
Hope to post some pictures by the end of the week when I get time after work.
Hugs, K

Yea Kay!
Hey Kay! Congrats on doing the walk, even if it was only half of it! I, personally, think that is wonderful! What a wonderful and proud day for you and all of your sisters in pink.
Dr Oz? Wow! It is depressing that there isn't more done for bc. It just doesn't make sense that they haven't gotten a lot further. Oh welllllllllll
And, huge congrats on reaching your donation goal! I applaud you lady!
You should be always treated with special attention and kind words! You have earned that right!
Thank you Kay for walking for all of your sisters in pink!

Thank you so much from all of us pink sisters. My husband, family, friends and I are on a team to do our walk here in Phoenix on 10/10/10. Can't wait to do the survivor walk too--I'm sure it will be so emotional.

Congratulations on taking part in the Komen "Race". I will be picking up T-shirts for my group on the 23rd, the "Race" is on the 25th. Still hoping for good weather. I'm curious, how many participants were there in NYC? Thanks for your efforts.

You were all there in spirit with me...
I have to thank all of you for being there to support me. 25,000 people participated on Sunday and I heard there were over 1600 survivors registered ( I don't have a confirmation on this number but someone mentioned it in their presentation). I felt all of you, my Pink sisters were there with us.
I look forward to next years "RACE" and even more to the day when we walk to celebrate curing BC. For all of you who are preparing for the upcoming Race for the Cure, I wish you sunny skies, moderate temperatures and lots of support. Enjoy the day.
