Chemo
Hi Zinniemay,
I had STG III, SCC Right Tonsil HPV+ and a tumor (lymph node) on the same side. My treatment was removing the tonsils (surgically), then nine weeks of chemo in three week cycles (Cisplatin, Taxotere and 5FU pumped). Then an additional seven weeks of concurrent weekly Carboplatin and 35 daily rads....
The tumor in my neck was very noticable initially. Between the second and third cycle you could barely feel the tumor. By my third cycle, it was gone. This was also confirmed with a CT before starting the concurrent.
On me, the neck dissection would be a last resort incase the tumor had no change or residual remained. The hope was that it would shrink or dissolve, allowing for a less invasive dissection if needed.
I was lucky in the fact that it dissolved and I've been NED and clean for 15 months....
Best,

Believe me I know how you feel, being scared and in shock. Just know y'all are in my prayers and even though it is hard; we are all here for you!

Jan,
I went to the other board and reposted it, William can to my aid and calm me down (bless his heart) I think when fear sets in and you don't have a grip on all the words and so on it is so hard to understand. So sometimes just chatting with people you don't worry about your grammer so much makes it easier to say what you need to say.
I joke and things to keep me in check. But my heart is not talking to my mind it is only breaking. So I have to have help understanding these Greek words.
I now know that if the did not shrink and did not grow that it is working maybe not how I would want it to but it is holding and that is time!
Thank you I do appreciate all the help
