Wishing you a happy early Birthday. Why dont you take a birthday cake to chemo and share with your nurses. They would probably enjoy it. I read that you dont have family support so make them your family on Tuesday. Happy birthday Virgo girl!
I baked cookies before each chemo and brought them in (I'm not saying you have to bake -- stopping by a bakery on the way in would be just fine). The chemo nurses, front-office staff, doctors, patients, their waiting family members...folks just loved it. I even had the back-office billing people stopping by the chemo room to find me and thank me. My doctor would come by with a fresh cup of coffee in his hand to "check on" me...it was really just to get another cookie. :-)
What I'm saying is that it made ME feel good, and brightened up an otherwise dreaded event, to bring a little sugar into everyone's day.

HaPpY BiRtHdAy to you for Tuesday!
Birthday wishes sent your way....yes, the gift that keeps on giving! But, you are celebrating a Birthday....yeah!!!!! Your chemo nurses will join to celebrate the day while you are there I am sure. Hugs to you for your special day..........and good luck on your chemo journey0 -
Happy happy birthday!!
I also had to have chemo on my birthday. We took in an "edible arrangement" made of fruit - but to my surprise the nurses had brought a small birthday cake for me!! They truly became part of my family (I have only a sister for support here). Good luck on Tuesday - I will sing happy birthday to you!0 -
Greetings Everyone
Thanks for B-Day Wishes...
I hope everyone is in good spirits Overall...
You ALL are in my thoughts...0 -
HAPPY HAPPY
Well I think it's a great birthday gift, getting rid of any cancer in your new 38 year old body, that's BIG. I know it's not easy and you would rather be somewhere else on your birthday but I say make it a special day any way you can. Wear your birthday hat, bring a balloon for yourself, tell everyone you meet that it's your birthday, I bet it will be the best day.
Wishing you lots more, R0 -
Happy Birthday! It's my birthday too
Just wanted to wish you a happy and blessed birthday. I will be 48 on September 14.
I am having a biopsy on Monday, so I am considered waiting/worried.
In 2007 I was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer and remember having chemo on my birthday.
It isn't fair I know, but think of it as a gift for getting well again.
I hope you have family and friends to spoil you!0 -
Happy Early BD to both you and Survgal!survgal said:Happy Birthday! It's my birthday too

Natly's suggestion of taking a cake is a great idea! And Traci you sly little devil...I would never have thought of that! You guys are way smarter than me. lol
Good luck on Tuesday, hope your chemo goes well and you feel good.
Survgal, keep us posted on the outcome of your biopsy.
Hugs BD Girls, Judy :-)0 -

Oh, Cindy...remind me NOT to hire you to plan MY next birthday!
Traci
I had chemo on christmas eve and my birthday is three days after christmas. felt like crap and it was the big 5-0. but this year cross my fingers and toes will be better. If I have to work it will be better!!! You are doing something for yourself to have MANY MANY more birthdays, but it still stinks. I bring my nurses cupcakes from a specialty place aroound here they do appreciate it. when I have my zometa in January it will be closed, so maybe I will bring nutella cookies from the Italian bakery. Ramble Ramble.....
anyway I am so glad when you post we are here for you and the battle, happy pre birthday!
And what Traci said, I am in recovery and NO MORE chemo cocktails!!!!!0 -
Make the best of it!
Even though you'll be in a place where you'd rather not be...it's still your birthday!!!
I agree, take a cake and wear a party hat, that won't only brighten up your day, but others around you.
Happy "early" birthday!
My last chemo was on Valentine's day...me and Mr. I.V. HA!
Blessings,

I've said it before Rachel -
I've said it before Rachel - you SO do NOT look your age! That stinks you have to have chemo on yoour birthday, but look at it like this - that crappy chemo is helping to insure that you have many many more happy birthdays to follow. THAT is something to focus on & celebrate We're getting through this, look how far we've come already.
I hope that in spite of the chemo you can have a wonderful birthday my friend.
*hugs*

Agree with Heatherbelle .. it sucks to have your chemo drip on your birthday -- however, the flip side of the coin is that you will be around for many more years to celebrate in STYLE --
I spent my last birthday in the hospital -- 1 days after my bilateral macty -- my sister brought me a 'chuckie cheese' stuffed mouse and party favorites -- it was so sweet .. I didn't eat my cake or anything - still drugged from surgery prior day .. but I remember to this day .. her kindess and loving gesture.
Take your cake and share it with the gals over at Onc .. you will be their best friend!
Happy Early Birthday ..Rachel -- 28 years old, RIGHT? Oh my lord, you look like so YOUNG.

Birthday
I haven't been hearing from you for a while. You started treatment a couple weeks before me with Heather and I was faithfully reading your posts to see how chemo was going. You were both such an inspiration. I am so sorry you need to get the chemo on your birthday, but at least one more treatment will be down, and you'll be setting yourself up for another 60 or so birthdays to come. It will be worth it, maybe try to look at it as a birthday present to yourself! LOL. I will be thinking about you and praying all goes well. Stay strong!0 -

I had my FIRST chemo on my birthday. When I pushed the surgeon to get the port installed so I could start chemo ... he asked when and I said Friday the 13th. Then I explained it was my birthday ... and it was going to be a new beginning ... then he understood. :-)
hugs.
