Nana b - my cross country trip
We left Thursday afternoon, spent the might in Miles City, Montana. Got up early Friday morning and continued on through the Grand Tetons - which were absolutely amazing to see, and scary at the same time (nick loves to see the look on my face), went through Yellowstone, which was beautiful, but the traffic backups were horrible with road construction all throughout. Saw the guysers also. from there we spent the night in provo utah, got up early saturday and drove through salt lake (I didn't like that much) and down to Reno Nevada. My stepkids met us there, we got married in a cute little chapel where we were driven by limo to get the license and then back - the limo driver was also the minister - which gave me a great laugh! from there the kids treated us to dinner at eechee bon, and had a great hotel room at a casino - both of us were too tired to gamble or anything else and went to sleep. got up early again on sunday and headed to oakland ca, spent three days with his parents (my in-laws are lovely people) and never really saw anything else! we left wednesday morning and met up with my daughter in law in sacramento, i went with her (and 3 kids, a cat and a lab) to her new house while nick went to Fallon to help his son finish packing the truck. Thursday night they got to the house in Lemore, and we spent Thursday and Friday helping them unpack - I mostly kept 3 kids busy. By friday night I was not feeling well - all 3 kids were sick with colds (ages 4, 6, and 6 months) Saturday morning I was attacked with a nasty cold! I was sick the whole way back - and no way was I going to visit you that way! The trip home was miserable - 115 degrees in vegas on Sunday, then 50 in south dakota on Monday! went to see Mt. Rushmore anyway, but boy was it cold!
It was a long and tiring trip, and we squeezed alot of stuff into ten days! BUT....I am married now! lol...will put up some pics soon!
Really sorry I didn't get to stop - I would have loved to meet you -

LOL!
Yes - we were simply exhausted! we had been on the road 2 days already, basically straight driving! by the time we got married, we knew we had reservations for eichi bon (spelling wrong) across the street - we were so hungry too - and ate all of it - and then promptly looked at that WONDERFUL bed and went to sleep!
Everyone - thankyou for the wishes - what a crazy wedding/trip it was!
Raquel - I also didn't want to get you sick or bring ANY germs your way! I spent 3 days playing with grandchildren, and had so much fun - it was worth the baby spit in the mouth and being sick all the way home - but did not want to infect anyone else! I am just getting over it, Nick is just getting it...:(0 -
we will tooNana b said:You'll be back!! Hope you
You'll be back!! Hope you are better!!
Unfortunately, his son leaves next July for Afghanistan, so we plan to come back in may/june before he leaves. I'm very glad he gets to be there for at least almost a year, I can't imagine being his wife, home with three little ones. I knew Nick when he was first enlisted, but I never did get to be the wife of someone shipped overseas - Nick went to Desert Storm along with quite a few other deployments - it takes a really strong person to be the one who stays behind (maybe why he was divorced a few times).
sooo....as I am sure I will still be hanging around here - I look forward to meeting you next year!0 -
