3 month post-tx PET scan
Had 5 chemo (cisplatin) 31 external radiation and 4 internal(brachy) radiation. My 3 month post tx PET scan shows all clear except 2 illiac nodes with SUV of 3.1 and 6.3. Anyone else have similar results after this type of tx? Would like to know what to expect next.

gin,So sorry to see you on
gin,
So sorry to see you on this board. Your story sounds much like mine, but on my 3 month PET everything showed clear. I am 2 years post treatment at this time and haven't had a scan in quite a while. I did have high grade dysplasia show up in March, but the docs are just watching it and see which way it will turn. I'm sure a scan is in my future. On my last visit with my surgical oncologist, he told me that in the event the ca returned in the cervix, we would have to sit down and have a long serious talk. In other words, a pelvic exeneration with chemo follow up. Those are the only options left. Anywhere else, chemo was my only option. I also had the max radiation allowed: 33 external, 5 internal, 10 chemo. I don't know if/when this dreaded disease will rear it's ugly head again, but I don't lose sleep over it. I was really sick with after effects of treatment until about April of this year...now I have quality of life back and I'm going for it!
I know all of this is very scary...keep your chin up. Keep posting! ((HUGS))0 -
follow up appt
I'm in remission. gyn/onc read the films and came up with different results. She is very confident that tx has cleared everything to this point and felt the PET only shows results of residual radiation. What a good feeling! thanks for all the words of encouragement. would like to keep in touch with you. God bless.
