good luck!
Good luck with your upcoming surgery, Sheri. I have had lung surgery three times. It sounds scary but it's "just" surgery and the lung surgeons are so good.....I am sure you will be fine. No, lung tissue doesn't grow back (unlike liver, say). But, lung function can come back -- the remaining parts of the lung 'work harder' and also kinda expand to fill the space (this is my understanding!). I do know that, after 3 lung surgeries, my lung function is really good -- I can hike up hills, etc etc. -- no problems.
Be sure to do all the breathing exercises they ask you to after surgery, and do walking too as soon as you can -- that will help your recovery.
I'll be thinking of you!!
