Any stories about people whose first round of chemo after surgery wasn't working very well but they went on to attain remission? I would love to hear some.

Thanks

I posted this one for you in another thread. Don't know if you saw it or not.

Profile: I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in April 2004 through surgery for an ovarian cyst. Fortunately, my surgeon called in a gynecologic oncolgist in the midst of surgery, so I feel I have had excellent care since that time. I had five major surgeries within 4 years and the big old hernias are coming back again!

Update: Will be 5 years soon since diagnosis. Have had multiple chemos and have never gone into remission. Do enjoy the periodic 2 month chemo vacations! Currently I'm on Avastin and cytoxan. Am hoping to live at least another 10 years! Why not!

Boy, I wish I could talk to
Boy, I wish I could talk to this lady. I wonder if her cancer was platinum resistant or what exactly?

Thank you very much for posting this.

    Avastin and Cytoxan
New to this site. I was dx 8/2006. Since then 9 surgeries including initial debulking, bowel, spleen removal and removal of reacurring tumors and 35 chemo treatments (all kinds). I was on Avastin and taxotere and my oncologist is switching me to Avastin (every 3 weeks) and oral Cytoxan (50mg). I was able to tolerate the Avastin quite well with increased blood pressure. I'm curious about the typycal side effects of the oral Cytoxan. So far it looks like the pill is very tolerable. CA125 is always below 15 so not a great marker for me. CT/PET is my doctors greatest tool to help him stay on top of this mess!
