3 Cancer Books - 2 on NHL

Hi - read 3 wonderful books this week I highly recommend. Newest, hot off the press by Merril Hoge, FIND A WAY, about his experiences with CHOP to battle NHL. Mostly about his years playing NFL football and how to remain positive. Second book, CANCER ON $5 A DAY, CHEMO NOT INCLUDED, by a Comedy Central comedian, Robert Schimmel. Language a bit strong, but keeps you laughing throughout his Chemo infusion lab experiences and CHOP Chemo for NHL. Very sadly, found out today that though his sense of humor kept him and thousands of others sane, he died Friday in an auto accident - his 19 year old daughter was driving and is unharmed - so sad at 60 after finally winning the cancer war. Recommended without reservations for EVERYONE is my favorite by Bruce Feiler called THE COUNCIL OF DADS. Having a rare bone cancer, he worries his 3 year old twin daughters will never remember him and he won't be a father in their lives. He assembles 6 best friends from all walks of life - childhood through present (age 40) to pass on his values, attend the girls soccer games, and be fathers to them. Every parent should read whether or not you have cancer. I've bought copies for my Oncologist and Onc. nurse to give at my 6th Chemo next week - Happy Reading on all the sleepless nights we have!

    The Council of Dads
    Hi Fran,
Last month CNN(I think) did an hour long special on this dad. I was so inspired by this man. The show was excellent and I can only imagine the book to be twice as good. Thanks for sharing. Love...Sue

Thanks for the recommendations. I put them in my wish list on Amazon for after we get back from vacation.
    Blessings to all,
