How many treatments has she
How many treatments has she had and where is she this weekend on the 14 day cycle?
I truly can relate to what your mother is going through. I was exhausted and weak most of the 6 plus months on chemo. I remember family not understanding why after 3 treatments I didn't just want to jump in the car, drive 3 hours and go to a family wedding. In the middle of a hot, hot July. I couldn't even go shopping. I needed a wheelchair or motorized cart at the grocery store. I would start to rebound a bit, about the time I would be getting ready for the next treatment.
I think it is a good sign she wanted to go and is on a little trip for the weekend. That is great! I so totally understand if she just wants to lay around and chill. Even though that isn't exactly exciting, she needs to listen to her body and what she feels up to doing.0 -
Be patient with her......Patteee said:How many treatments has she

When I was doing chemo I didn't even feel like getting up to pee...Its understandable how she feels, we have been there. Its like running a marathon then someone asking you to go shopping with them....Believe me, she is very content to just be there and will be more content to simply rest and be with you.....It was a year before I felt like doing anything major after chemo....It zaps you bad.....Love, Hope and Patience, Buzz0 -

Like Patteee and Buzz said Chemo really takes it out of you. Just realise your mom is doing all she can right now, just the fact she wants to be there is good even if she can't get out to enjoy everything. Try and remember she is in a battle for her life, and right now it really needs to be all about her needs, not everybody elses. Mom knows you all would relly like her to get out, but she just can't so maybe everybody can understand and visit with her in the room.

I want to applaud your Mom for going away at all. Chemo is a tough regimen, + in my experience, unpredictable. Just when you think you have the "pattern' figured out, it surprises you. For me, the worst is if I feel guilty, that I am letting someone down, so my recommendation is to accept that your Mom needs rest + help her to feel okay about it. She may just find the resort really relaxing + is enjoying the rest.0
