Hot Flashes Over?
BUT last night I was in bed mentally going over the day and I could not recall even 1 hot flash all day!!! That is progress!!
Also, I have noticed the last 10 days or so a noticable stablalization of my emotions. What used to send me into tears (like a really wet day) doesn't now. I still respond with sadness, but its different now, I am not as overwhelmed as I was with Eligard on board.
This change is coming about 4.5 months after the last shot expired whichis much better than 9- 12 months the uro told me to expect. Of course, there are still a few linger side effects, but it looks like I'm turning a corner on two big ones.
I hope this new pattern holds. This is so much better than what I have gone through. Those who have never been on hormone therapy can hardly imagine the impact that treatment has on a man. For me, it was a bit like a living nightmare at times.
I now can hardly wait to see what this day brings.
(Ok, as I finish writing this I have a mild flush starting- but good news- it is not holding!! That is progress.)

Today, so far, only 3 mild flashes. I can hardly believe the change. I wasn't expecting this until at least Oct or Nov.
Nice. I hope it continues.
sooner than later......I'm glad that you are now experiencing better days.........Ira0 -

Again today, I have not had any noticable hot flashes that got my attention. What a change from 15- 20 a day- so intense they would wake me up at night and dampen my undershirt in the day with sweat dripping down my face if I didn't catch it.
Today I have been doing more house work and feeling more motivated than I have since April 09 when I was first injected. I like this change- and I am surprised how fast if seems to be turning. I wonder what might happen next?
Ah, I know: a 2nd boyhood? With puberty just aheah?0 -

Day 3: I'm better today than yesterday- no flashes all day!! I have energy I haven't had since before surgery. I have been out doing yard work for 6- 7 hrs, plus and hour in the garage, and some house work.
It is like a rebirth!! I don't know what others have experienced coming off hormone shots, but this is just peaches and cream! finally.0 -
Thursday
4 Hot flashes so far today. Hot enough to sweat. Still substanstially few than 2 weeks ago. The Last 6-month Eligard was injected in the middle of October, 09. I can feel a real shift in my mood and energy levels the last 7 days.
the good news is, this stuff does break up eventually.
I have been wondering how others on hormone therapy have found the after-shot experience.0
