Needing Meditation

Finding God in a foxhole
Many people do that, don't they. There are plenty who are religious who have cancer and the opposite is true too. Cancer knows no race, sex, or religion. It's really one of the few things that can make that claim. (Well bully for cancer) My opinion is that you do not need to believe in anything in order to meditate. From what I understand about it and my experiences with it is that you try to think of nothing really, just let the mind drift from thought to thought then focus when you can.
It's easy to feel panicked when one first gets the news. If you can just try to bring yourself to a peaceful place I think that could help you a lot. It doesn't have to be God or anything like that. Just "Be" and keep faith in yourself.

I don't know the proper way
I don't know the proper way to meditate but I just sit with my eyes shut and try to relax. Sometimes I fall asleep. A friend told me it's ok if I fall asleep because I must need the sleep and it's part of what meditation is about.
Good luck, I don't know anything about a renal cyst on the kidney. You could always post on the Kidney Cancer board also. And we will be here for you too.0 -
A different point of view
I agree on Phil point of view that Cancer knows no race, sex, or religion, but differ on the meditating part. My focus in meditating is God, and you don’t have to be a Christian to do that or a religious person, I believe any one can come to God just as they are.
I find by focusing my thought on God and allowing him to take control of things it frees me up from having to worry about them. This is just the way I do it and hope you too can find a peace in our world of cancer.
Take care and please keep posting0 -
