Surgery

Hi Everyone,
My Mom is having surgery tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. She has to be at the juravinski cancer clinic for 6. I thought she would be an emotional basketcase tonight but she was surprisingly calm and animated.
I pray that everything goes well for her. I am a little frightened because I have read and heard a few horror stories. Mom's health up until this damn disease came into her life was fantastic. She biked all summer long every year for 3 hours a day and walked for 2 hours daily in the winter. She doesn't drink or smoke and it guts me that this has happened to her.
So please say a little prayer for my mom over the next few days. Her name is Saundra but she goes by Sam. She doesn't want to hear what the doctor's have to say tomorrow so we will honour her wishes. She doesn't know that they told us back in June if left untreated she would only have six months but treated three years. I say they may be cancer experts but they are not experts on my Mom. They don't know her and she can win this battle.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kelly

Ipray for you and your Mom.I am in this battle with my Mom sinve Dec09.
The Surgery day was horrifying for me but everything went well and my mom recovered fast.I hope the best happen to your Mom as well.My mom doesn't want to know about the prognosis as well and I respect that. She believes she will win this battle and I believe she will. The first oncologist told me that she has a year and she even didn't considr surgery. She did 6 rounds of chemo first and then she went through surgery. We changed the oncologist and the new one is terrafic he is a warrior himself and she will fight with us.She has a scan on Monday and I hope everything be fine.I will be thinking about you and will pray for you.HUgs0 -
praying for you
I'll be praying for you and your Mom, who is of course going to sail through surgery because she is so fit and healthy. It's a big surgery -- the surgeon has like 20 places they are supposed to check and cut -- but you will both get through it.
My mom is a bulldog, too, never quit anything in her life and always runs the show. We're 19 months past diagnosis now, been through it all. The good part, besides her still being alive? I know her better than I ever thought possible, I understand bucketloads more about who she is and how she came to be, and all of our broken fences have been mended.0
