Anniversary

Well, our anniversary has almost come and gone. It went ok. Actually, yesterday may have been the hardest because I was anticipating today. This morning I went to our cancer support group. This is the group Doug and I went to together and I continue to attend. Then I did some shopping and met some friends for lunch. One of our sons called yesterday and the other called first thing this morning. I am really blessed to have this much support. Tonight I am on my own except for the dog and cat. That is alright. Today at lunch many happy memories were shared. I know that I was blessed by having Doug in my life for as long as I did. He touched many people in his life and as he went through his cancer fight. Prayers for all of us. Fay

Hi Fay,
Glad that you did o k, getting through this day, truth is the anticipating is worst than the day, I have found that out already, You are blessed to have good sons, I to am blessed with a good family, but still wish that I had Johnny, even though like you said I have many happy memories and also am blessed that we were together for such a long time, I am sitting here with my 2 dogs for company, I am a little down the past few days, trying to pull myself out of it,
Wishing you a peaceful night,
Bless you

Hello Fay
I'm glad you are okay. I can only hope that you can take comfort that I, for one, am glad that you and Doug found each other, and that your circumstances resulted with you being on this board. Even though I am new to this board, I have read many of your posts and I find them useful, life-giving and full of wisdom. I can see how Doug loved your very much.
Grateful that you are here,

Just thanks. I had lunch today with a friend and one of our sons and family are taking me to dinner tonight. The plans for the weekend include family and friends. I hope you have good plans, too. Fay0 -

Thank You For Staying Connected Fay
Hard as it is, it is people like you Fay who have "time" in that give us encouragement when we doubt ourselves and think we can't go through anther day of our grief. Thank you for all your responses to everyone as it shows you care for all in the most tender way.
You and the rest here are walking in my shoes and I depend on hearing what you have to say, always. When I doubt myself, when I cry at night, I write and try to give voice to a heart that is breaking. You and the others know what my heart is trying to say and that in itself lightens my load as not everyone around me understands me.
We celebrate with you, Fay as this one year anniversary surrounds you. To outsiders their lives move on in a most unnoticeable way... but our lives are reduced to living for one instead two, right away we feel the change. One year... day after day of moving forward without them, our loved ones. A new life, a new beginning with hope and maybe pretty soon you will find that smile on your face alive and well once again.
Peace to you Fay,
Deb
