Wonderful News
Hi Vinny,
Wonderful wonderful news. Enjoy the moment. You deserve it. Hard work really pays off in the end.
I thought you should know that you really messed with my head. I have been dreaming of your pork all day long. Can't get it out of my mind. I guess it's a good thing to want to eat something. I might have to fly across the country to get some of your pork. LOL. I am a baker, more than a cook. Of course I can cook, but would rather bake. Wish we were closer, we could celebrate your good news with your pork and my baking. LOL.
Anyway, so glad to hear the news...

Great news!!!
Hi Vinny,
Sounds great except for the Anemia stage. What do you mean when you say your going to have to rough it the last month? Will you be in pain, or just really tired? I'm so happy about the rest of the news and I'm with you..."the treatment is working" and thats good! One day at a time Vinny! Keep cookin and sharing your diners with us...it inspires me to get off my butt and head for the kitchen. If you can do it....so can I, Take care and thanks for giving us the up-date....up-dates are big time important for me...keeps me knowing everyone is ok and I don't worry so much about you all.

Congratulations Vinny! Fighting the good fight. When you mention maintenance chemo for 2 years, what's your cocktail? Did you mean rituxan?
So hungry every time you write about it, keep it up my friend!0 -

Oh Vinny, so glad your appointment went well. Do you still have 2 cycles remaining or is it less than that now? And like Dixiegirl I'm wondering if you will be doing Rituxan maintenance or something else.
Keep up the cooking and baking......someone has too.........not me! Love to eat but have really been off of the cooking since chemo, LOL. Go figure.

Procrit shots
Hello Vinnie,
I haven't posted many threads on this site, just a few here and there. I followed your threads, and have always sent prayers and best wishes your way. I also learned so much information from you and others. So far I haven't had that much in the way of treatment My DX is indolent, low grade B cell. I have had only treatment of rituxan for 4 weeks, once a week in dec 2009. So far I feel fine. I suppose I am concerned about the future, and what's to come since my condition is chronic. I was so surprised to read about Procit causing neck and head cancers.
Stay strong. You are an inspiration to me. Maggie0 -
Good good news.
So happy to hear that things look good and your remaining Chemo can use all of it's power on that remaining spot. I still think it will get it. Sounds like your MD was happy with your results and there's nothing like a happy MD!! Too bad about the anemia but with your stepped up Chemo it was almost a given. How long after you finish these cycles until you start the maintenance? Hopefully you will rebuild significantly between the two. Do you take iron supplements? And of course the rest and sleep become really crucial. Can't tell you how glad I am for you. Keep ploughing through and as always good thoughts and prayers. Mary0 -

Thank you all for the wonderful comment's!!!! I gain so much strength from everyone on this site!!!!! I will have to finish my last two cycles, I will be doing Rituxan maintenance, my Onc feel's this is the best bet because your body never get's use to the drug, so if it comes back I can still use it, and it does not effect your major organs like the other drugs..... the Anemia thing is in the back of my mind but I'm not going to worry about...... I really would love the last two treatments to knock out what's left!!!!! It does not sit right with me to have this cancer lurking around! LOL Vinny0 -

Vinny,
You are such an inspiration to me. You have such a great sense of humor and such strength. I am so so happy that your reports are all good!! Well, except for that one area. But we'll all pray that it gets knocked out by the last two treatments! This sight is like having a special club of very strong people that just inspire, lift up and educate. Thank you! And know that I'm with you praying and sending good thoughts your way every day! So glad things are looking up for you.0 -

Vinny,
You still have two treatments left, hopefully that will clean up that last spot. I just entered the anemic stage also, don't know what the doc plans for me, had the Zevalin like Mary, and hopefully my counts will come back up on their own.
I don't cook much anymore, but I did make a wonderful pork roast on Sunday. My daughter gave me the recipe. Pork Roast, rinsed saurkraut, 8 oz applesauce with cinnamon and a little brown sugar. Cook in crock pot for 10 hours on low. It's so good!! I don't even like saurkraut, but it's so juicy and has such a good flavor with the applesauce. Nothing like your recipes, I'm sure, but still pretty darn tasty.
We're all praying for each other and there's much power in prayer. Lot's of good news on this site, and lots to thank the Lord for.

Vinny,
You have been inspiring me and my fears have lessened. Yes, focus on day by day - the only way to keep a positive attitude. So thank you. And, nowadays the food tastes even more wonderful than before. ha,ha,ha!
