Didn't see this...
Hi Vinny,
I didn't see this post before I commented in a prior post. I guess we just need to wait until Wednesday and see what your onc says. I sure hope he will say that a couple more treatments will knock the remaining cancer, right out of there. I feel this is good news,(only one place)pelvic bone, but I'm no doctor either! I'll be thinking good positive thoughts for you, and thats for sure! Sue0 -
Hmm
I honestly don't know what this all means and your MD will be able to clear it up. Refresh my memory. Did you have bone marrow involvement? That whole pelvic area is where we have the most bone marrow which is why they take it from there. If you had bone marrow involvement then it doesn't surprise me that the chemo is still actively targeting that area. It will get it but has to work very hard. Again so much will depend on what your MD is able to interpret from those results. Otherwise all the rest is gone? That shows you are a responder so I think you have an excellent chance of going all the way with this. One more day to get through. I'll keep my fingers crossed while praying. Mary0 -

Thanks Mary, I will find out tomorrow, I had bone marrow involvement yes, a tumor in my chest, (which is gone), cancer in the L-4 and L-5 region on the spine, which I think is also gone, a metabolism along the upper sternum and a lymph node in the right posterior around the thorax, all which I think are gone. My original diagnosis was osseous metastasis which I take as bone involvement. Thanks for the prayers!!!! Vinny0 -

Good luck on Wednesday. I'm just like you, I like to get all the info I can, read it and then when the doc talks to me I have an idea about what she's saying. I also ask a ton of questions. Hopefully your doc will clear up any questions you have and the rest of your treatment will get you into REMISSION!!!! (That is my new favorite word )
Prayers to you Vinny!0 -

Vinny,
I had my midway scan a couple of weeks ago and there was a comment on the report that said "Diffusely-increased metabolic activity throughout the osseous structures, which is likely cosistent with recent chemtherapy". You know how they like to use those big terms. Anybody else have a report that read that way. So maybe I guess it might be normal in some cases. Maybe the same in your case. Hope so anyway. John0 -

I sure hope so, I will find out tomorrow, my counts are so low now , she is making me take the Predisone for the next 4 days, I take 5, but I'm taking one for two days, half for two more days after that, all in a effort to keep me from crashing........ Yuck0 -
Maybe you are?
Vinny, By the time we're done with all this we certainly are on our way to being doctors, LOL. At least of our own bodies. So sorry that there was some uptake on your scans, but you will know tomorrow what it all means. You seem to be staying pretty calm. Don't think I could. Maybe it could have something to do with your low blood counts. Whatever it means we'll be here for you, you can count on that. I have a friend who's platelet count dived a year after he finished his chemo. Had to go on high dose prednisone for 2 months. I felt so sorry for him because prednisone is definitly no fun, as we all are aware of.
Take care my friend, I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.

Hi Vinny,
Wow that sounds so good. I have had such a hard time with food lately, and not much sounds good to me. What are you going to do with it when it's done. I don't know what part of the country your in, maybe you have some local specials. I sure hope your counts are doing better. That can be so tiring.
BTW , last night I had a craveing for an oatmeal cookie. Thought I would make a half batch, alas, not enough oatmeal. Hubby was already in his pjs. Oh well, went to get my pjs on, came downstairs and he was gone. So sweet , he went to get me oatmeal. So of course I made a whole batch. Yummy. Shared some with the grandkids and my elderly mom today. It felt really good to bake sometime and not be totally wiped out from it. Keep cooking and baking...

Hi Vinny,
Yum...bet it's going to taste good! I didn't know what to eat tonight so I settled for 2 scambled eggs and toast with peanut butter. Hit the spot and didn't make me sick. I drank a big glass of carnation instant breakfast with it. Don't really have an appetite right now. Anyways...good luck to you tomorrow and know you are in my prayers!

I'm in South Jersey, when I make the pulled pork I have a couple of sauces made, some like the Carolina Vinegar base sauce, others like the sweet BBQ. It's sucks you are having problems with food, that's one thing that makes this type of cancer manageable for me is that I can still taste food, not to beat a dead horse, but with my head and neck cancer, I could not even drink a glass of water without getting sick and throwing up! Everything tasted like battery acid....... Those oatmeal cookies sound yummy!!!!! Vinny0 -

Hi,Vinny,
Oooh, that BBQ sounds so good! Yes, thank god, you and I can enjoy tasting food. But am having gas with indigestion. Is it from chemo but I had it over a week ago.. Hmmm, few days ago I was fine and now am trying to figure out the routine of my tummy cooperating. I eat healthy stuff - maybe have to eat tons of fiber... oh well, my aunt just offered to make oatmeal cookies from her best recipe for me. Yayy!

Liz,
If you don't get relief from meds for the constipation, please try acupuncture. I got instant and permanent relief from it where the meds did absolutely nothing for me.
Kaye also had good response to it.
It's worth a shot honey!
Take care,

Beth,
Yes, I heard that acupunture really helps. I kept putting off to make that phone call for that service... been trying to find house cleaner, going through refinancing my house, seeing physical therapist for my back, dentist, etc etc. Oh boy, caring for my body is a lot of work, ha ha.
Will make priority to use that service.
Thanks for the encouragement.
