ARGH! Need more surgey
But it means another new doctor! and my colorectal surgeon is confident enough in my healing that he is sending me back to the gastroenterolgist to start getting my colonoscopies from them.
I do have something funny to tell you. I am getting the rectal exam today and the words that came out of my doctors mouth and these are words that you never want to hear when in this position, " This feels Fantastic"
and of course I burst out laughing and embarrsed him and the nurse!!!!

Sorry you need surgery
I'm sorry you need surgery, but am very happy it is not for cancer!
Your story about the exam is pretty funny. I've missed all the "fun" since my tumor was in the sigmoid.0 -

You can become a surgeryadict !
I recently had my 3rd major surgery related to my cancer (it was my hernia repair surgery). Such fun! I was so disappointed to hear that my dr thinks I won't need any more surgery!
How I'll miss the pain, the recovery, the anticipation - those are but a few of the joys of surgery.
Please knife me again!
(Well, maybe not. I'm steering clear of sharp objects from here on in!)

Dysentery on demand - a Miralax or MoviPrep cocktail, and no eating. Yes, the joys of the colonoscopy!
Sadly, it's 3 years till my next one!
Take care, Pepe!

Hahahaha
That was a great laugh, Kathy!
I just had hernia surgery in June, and i'm very glad i did it. I would get so sick, throwing up, and unable to pass stool before it. When the doc got in there, he found at least SEVEN hernias in there! my bowels were getting incarcerated, and causing all the hell. I had the ileostomy reversal in May of 2009, without a mesh. now i have a huge mesh covering my entire abdomen. The doc says it will be much stronger there now, and unlikely to herniate again. I agree with wondering why they're just now starting to mesh during the take downs. They warned me that it could easily herniate, so why not mesh it to keep that from happening? Duh.I figure it has something to do with money. Everything does!
out of three surgeries, this one had the fastest hospital stay (four days), and my recovery was faster. however this time i got acupuncture treatments which helped me heal much faster.
Good luck, and be sure to let us know how it goes! Do you have a date scheduled yet?

I know you guys are kidding about the joys of colonoscopies, but i gotta tell ya, i truly look forward to the anesthesia now. I love the way the demurol makes me feel. Especially when they first give it to you. i can totally understand how people get addicted to drugs. It's a good thing i don't get scoped more often, or i would be an addict. (getting a sigmoidoscopy on tuesday, and i told them they'd better dope me up!) lol!0 -

and no i am not mad
Hi all,
and no i am not mad about the jokes, you have to have a sense of humor about all this!
I don't have a surgery date, I don't see the Hernia doc until the 17th! I didn't even know i had multiple hernia's until they told me.
i will know more soon I hope! I really dont care what they have to do to me as long as I am under anesthesia!
