It is the BEST!!! Of course, everyone with you must also eat it, with the garlic so strong of an aroma!
I remember going to an Italian restaurant in San Diego with some friends. We all had escargot, in a delicious garlic butter sauce (never mind the calories...rofl!). After we left the restaurant, we passed an ice cream parlor, and went in for a bit of dessert. The server looked at us, and wrinkled her nose....the garlic was still so strong on our breath...
Thanks for the fond memory...

Weekends are always busyketziah35 said:Preparing toi go to a resort
Preparing toi go to a resort in Williamsburg next week.
My son turned 13 yesterday, officialy a teenager. He's having a party at our house today with about fifteen friends. Boys and girls.... I have to cut the grass, set up the voleyball net, clean off the patio, clean the garage, set up the camper for a few kids to sleep over, (no girls, lol) and have a busy night. Plus I had to get up at 6:45 today(my only day to sleep in) to take my daughter for cheerleading at a football game this morning. Then some family coming over Sunday for cake and ice cream. I can't wait for Monday to go relax at work..... LOL....0 -
Peaceful and relaxed,Kathryn_in_MN said:No plans yet
But this is our last weekend with no kids. One daughter has moved back home for senior year of college, but is gone to Canada right now. My youngest son is gone to his dad's for the week. My other son just moved in to the dorms for freshman year of college, and my oldest daughter is off leading another Trek America tour. So until September 2 this is an adults' only house. I think I'll run around naked tomorrow!

Sheri this is a superb plan!luv3jay said:I'm getting married in
I'm getting married in October so I'm finishing up preparations for that. Feels good to think about something other than cancer and scheduling treatment appointments!
Sheri
By the way where are you from?
Take care.

A wonderful day Friday!
I visited my mom (92) at my childhood home where she was visited by an Alumni Outreach person from her university (graduated class of 1938 with a BA in Philosophy). She is considered an "Outstanding Alumna".
The contact person was also fascinated to learn that my mother's best friends (from growing up, all of whom also went to the same college - had to live at home) have stayed best friends for life. 7 women, sorority sisters, have had regular family gatherings and lunches ever since. I remember the annual event at my mother's house, when her "girlfriends" and their families (husbands, children our ages) came for an annual barbeque.
We were also shown references to Mom in the college newspaper, and have temporary hold on a copy of her yearbook (a women's college, in the 1930s - great fun to go through the yearbook!)
Then spent time with my brother and sister, talking and watching alpacas until it was time for me to head home. My sister lives in a second house on the family property, and raises alpacas there. My brother built a house next door to my sister. I live 130 miles away, but came in for the day.
Today I went on a hike in a local nature preserve. So far, a good weekend!0 -

Yep, Saturday at 12:00 noon EST leaving on a jet plane for Vegas. George is feeling really good, used his work miles for free tickets and snagged free hotel room so we are off to the foothills north of Vegas and then Henderson for 5 days of relaxation and of course a little gambling and to see a show, Jersey Boys.
George really wants to go and after all he has been through is so looking forward to it, he is like a kid on Christmas morning. Time to forget about the cancer if only for a few days.
Hugs - Tina
I hope you and George
Tina,
I hope you and George have a great vacation.

Polo!
I went to my first polo match today!!!!
It was so interesting, and the people watching were, as well. The dutch band was entertaining with songs from the Beatles, and other groups that I know well, so I was singing along.
It helped that one of the sponsors was Beringer champagne (and WOW! did it flow!!!)

Have fun!
I loved Escargot, until the last two years.....there are so many slugs in my garden. My sister stepped on a slug and it looked disgusting, I don't think I can eat them again. But they were so good with some garlic butter. I first had them in Germany. I stick to scallops!
I am enjoying my house this weekend. It is cool, so I went and bought some flowers and rearranged some pictures. Now I am eating a small slice of pizza with a small glass of Merlot. We are grilling steaks later and I want to make sure that I am NOT hungry!! I grill a mean steak!!!
Oh, the kids are coming over. My daughter and I shopped yesterday for 8 hours.0
