The pop side of terminal melanoma is coming to a tv series titled "The Big C." It'll star Laura Linney--Jim Carey's tv wife in "The Truman Show". She has the cancer, and a raft of wacky neighbors and friends. She looks great in the trailers. I'm sure they'll include some over-the-top, philsophically aware moments for realism. We'll see, but after the Michael Douglas coverage, I wouldn't rule out another blow to public awareness.

    I watched the first episode
I watched the first episode with my wife. Some of it was touching and to admit I did shed a few tears knowing what she may have to go through. It really hit home and I really did not enjoy watching the show, not sure why...

Hi John, thanks for your comment. Now I'm going to have to actually watch some of it, instead of just ranting without watching, which is easier. Sounds natural you might not enjoy watching it. People sometimes take a break from the board, same reason. We don't always need reminding of what we're going through in recovery.
best to you and your wife, Hal

Thanks Hal, It's kind of a weird show. It's worth a "look see" so you know what it's about. Even though I say I don't like it I will give it another shot. I think I'm more curious as to how they direct it and what content is actually in it. We all know the outcome of the show, its either going to be good or bad.

Thanks Hal, the best to you and yours as well :)

    The second episode wasn't so
The second episode wasn't so bad. I found it to be quite entertaining and funny. I guess the first one touched me in a sore spot.

    The big C
I thought the show was funny. Not the diagnosis or her choice, but the way she decides to view the world after she is given the news. I threw out my couch too. (Ok, I didn't burn it in the backyard) The C diagnosis does change perceptions.
