Beth:
I did that prep the first time I had a colonoscopy several years ago. I took Katie Couric's advise and sucked on a lime wedge before drinking the 8 ounces, didn't help with the taste. It was horrible, thought I was being poisoned. I did manage to get 3/4 of it down, pooped clear water, and had enough. Nurse laughed and said I got more down than most. I will never ever do that prep again. Last November it was Miralax and Dulcolax and Gatorade for me.
Poor George when he was diagnosed he had to do the prep twice in 10 days and had the Movi-prep. Poor guy but he took it like a trooper. I gagged just watching him.
Take care and just reschedule, you will be fine, I just know it.

Don't cancel the colonoscopy just reschedule it, and try a diferent solution, here we use citromax , not delicious but manageable !

I took it and liked it better than other preps
For me, the MoviPrep worked well and comfortably (no cramping, just running)
I eat very lightly the day before my prep, so there isn't as much to clear. But when prepping for my recent surgery, I asked my surgeon if I could use the MoviPrep like I'd had for my colonoscopy 3 months earlier, rather than do the Half-Lytely or Miralax. For my surgery, I did a split-prep - half two nights before, half the morning before, so I could travel that afternoon to NYC "unhindered" for surgery the next day.
I'd sip the cold Movi-prep, and follow each dose with a chaser of Ginger Ale. I also downed a bit less than the 8 ounces each time - that was just too much to tolerate. However, I did get a good cleaning.
We all react differently. I can't stand Gatorade!0 -
Prep
For those of you that have to take the miralax prep with the gatorade i don't like that drink either because the gatorade is too sweet so I use propel flavored water and it doesn't have all that sugar in it and is 0 calories. Much easier for me to get down. Don't like preps of any kind but the miralax is the best for me.

update on my prep
It cleared me out and with no nasty taste. There is also gatorade that is low calorie to the point where my diabetic mother can take it. I was up all night like everyone else, but I got the solution down quite easily and the doc said I was clean as a whistle. Moviprep may be moving out in the medical world.0 -
Prep
Beth,
I had to do Moviprep for my first Colonoscopy, It was very tough. I am scheduled next month for my yearly one and I told the Dr's office NO moviprep, they said I could use ducolox and two bottles of mag. citrate. I will let you know if that is any better.
Why can't they come up with stuff that will work but now make one sick in the process!
Hope all is better now.

I second that, I dont remember what I used for my first colonoscopy but it was bad, but since then I have always used miralax, not great but for sure doable...so that is what I am sticking with...
I think I might try the propel instead of gaterade next time..

Using a straw helps bypass some of your taste buds. Much easier not to have to taste it so much. Yuk!
i just cant get over it when people say they cant keep movi prep down. the only thing i can think of is that you have never had to do the golytely. movi prep is so much better than golytely it is crazy, and not to mention it is half the amount. it costs me 50 dollars out of pocket but worth every penny. i have absolutely no problem drinking the stuff.0
