ili reversal, hot water heater broke
The day i left for the hospital i noticed a small amount of water by the hot water heater. Oh great, i soped it up and put .
a towel down to see if was just a fluke or was it really leaking
When i check back later it was, I looked up the cost and a new one would be around $300 at lowes, great $300 more than i have(being totally broke) I told my son to keep an eye on it and to sop up the water until i get home,.
Does anyone know of anybody who would be able to help me pay for this, (i can't go to family right now cause my dads also in the hospital).
Any suggestions would be appriciated
Penny

Listen to me....
me, of little (no) faith. Do you actively belong to a church or other organization? I would imagine they could help come to your rescue. Other than that, I can't think of anything else. I know there isn't always the good deed recycling system out there. Maybe explain to Lowes your situation and maybe they can help with lay-away and hook you up with someone who could install it for a very reasonable fee or a neighbor can help? Is your husband handy or would it wind up costing twice what it normally would if he "helped".0 -
suggestions
If you have a religious affiliation, you could contact them for either direct help or perhaps a low cost loan. Or there might be a member who does plumbing who can tell you if you have to replace whole thing or just some part.
You could try your city or county family services to see if they can point you in the right direction for getting either repair or replacement funds.
You could talk directly to the manager of your Lowes store. Some times these retailers will make a charitible contribution of their merchandise. That would still leave you paying for installation.
Hope one of these suggestions works out for you. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Is there an echo in here???
I second that suggestion
;-)
PS: I don't think I'd let Lowes do the ili reversal. Home Depot does a better job with those!0 -
Another Resource
Call the American Cancer Society in your area. There may be a foundation through them that helps support emergencies such as this - I'm in NE Florida and there is a foundation that helps with utility payments, mortgages, or other emergencies. Your hot water heater would qualify. You could also talk to a social worker at the hospital -- they may be able to give you some direction to a resource that would help.0 -

thanks I will Try some of those, Installing it is no problem, we have that covered, I have not told my husband yet and as long as he stay out of the laundry room he won't see it, I just don't want him to worry about it until i get out of here, i know that sounds crazy, but he is to worried about me and having enough money to just keep food on the table until the third, (when he gets his social security check or someone buys some artwork from
us.
My delimia is on so many levels more complicatied than just getting a hot water heater and installing it.
I can't stand anymore drama.
I mean with dad being in the hospital and me being in the hospital and now the hot water heater good golly what next?>:

They say these things come in threes, so you should be finished for awhile! It is nice to see you posting so soon after surgery; I hope you are feeling well.0
