ok...some good news for the day...unrelated to cancer
Some of you all know that I was supposed to get married to Nick last October, plans made and all cancelled at the last moment. I told you that his law partner had been dx'd with breast cancer, and some of you already knew that she was his not-yet ex-wife, we delayed the divorce because she did not have medical coverage.
well.....We just got the news that as of today - the divorce is FINAL!
Nick and I had been planning this trip we are leaving on Thursday for a month or so now, but we will now have an additional pit stop in Las Vegas or Reno....
I am leaving Thursday from MN, he is taking me up through Montana, down through the Grand Titons, Yellowstone to see Old Faithful. we are then going to Fallon NV, (now)plan to get married Sunday in Reno. Then over to San Leandro to meet his parents (still scary at 48), he promised me IN and Out burger and a ride on the Rice a Roni car (hehe). We are then headed back to Fallon NV to help his son and family move to Lemore CA (he re-enlisted in the Navy). We get to meet our new grand-daughter (who is about 6 months old now). From there we are stopping at Mt. Rushmore and then here - all in about 10 days, and in the truck (road trips can be fun).
So, when I get back I may just change my name to Mrs. Morrison.....yippee..all that to be followed by the THIRD colonoscopy in a year...ick...

We stayed in Reno before and had a good time...we saw Virginia City and Carson City, and drove around Lake Tahoe and stopped in a couple of towns as we made the circuit.
That should be fun for you both. Congrats on tying the knot and if you've both made it this far, well you both know what to expect:)

Congratulations to both of you!! It's been quite the year where you both have had your ups and downs and then some more just because Murphy's Law seems to be that way. Now, you are going to have 10 days full of adventure and romance and tying the knot! How wonderful is that?? And then you get to meet the inlaw and the grandchld!
Have fun and enjoy every minute of your whirlwind 10 day vacation!

My sister got married in Reno years ago, If you can swing it, head to Lake Tahoe, the wedding chapels are much nicer. But then again, it is not aboue where you get married, it is about the marriage itself!!! I am so happy for you, may yo be blessed with a long a happy marrige! You deserve it!

Sounds like a quick, wonderful 10 day trip. Sherrie, you and Nick have fun in Yellowstone and the Tetons. I live about an hour away from both. Well, except I can see the tetons out my window.
They're very majestic and just awesome.
When you're traveling through southeast Idaho on I-15 on your way to Nevada, wave when you go by Rigby. That's where I live!!

Ok guys - I'm off to work til noon and then hitting the road! This started out as just a trip to help Nick's son move to another navy base! then since so close, I need to meet Nick's parents. Since I've never been out west (although I lived in colorado for a short bit in 1980) he wanted to show me some of the beautiful sites. and since we've been trying to get married for nearly 5 years (always stopped by something) - we are doing it! There is alot to be accomplished in only 10 days!
Holly - I wrote it down (since my memory still is not all there) and I'll wave!
Nana B - got your numbers in my phone and if there is any way I can, we will! I would LOVE to meet you. Closest time would be probably Wednesday? I'm going to text you later on - how'd that job interview go?

And now, that the divorce is final, Congrats to you both! This is sooooo magnificent!!!
Have a wonderful trip, and did you know that 'tie the knot' came from long, long ago when a newly 'mated' couple had a thong tied to their wrists? And then, for 2 weeks, they could only talk to each other, and be with each other. At the end of the 2 weeks, they took the thong back to doni that had tied it, and he/she asked if they wanted to stay mated. If yes, he/she kept the thong in one piece, if no, he/she cut it in half...

You are real close to Yosemite from Fresno, the water falls are all active. Beautiful Place! Hiway 1 is also a great drive along the coast!0
