Update on Appointment with GYN

Well I made the appointment for my first mamo since dx, for the 2nd of Sep. The day after I retire. Found out I have a yeast infection thanks to all the drugs. Doing the goop for that, for 3 days.

I also saw my GP yesterday and got the results of my last bloodwork. My chol was good. I am supposed to be a diabetic but my A1c was only one tenth of a point out of the normal range. So I am now considered pre-diabetic. Working on getting that back to the normal range. My white count is still low and I am a little anemic. GP told me to eat more spinach, red meat and beans. He said that he could give me meds but he does not like giving pills for everything. I told him that was fine with me because I don't like taking them either.

I see my onc tomorrow and will give her a copy of the new bloodwork. I will also tell her that the Femara is killing my back. Can hardly get myself going in the morning.

I only have 4 more work days. We are planning on taking our vacation beginning on the 6th of Sep. Just making a big loop to TX, IN and MD just to see family. Only have about 2 and a half weeks, since I am still taking Herceptin.

Hugs

Donna

Donna .. All I can focus on is your vacation .. it is so well
deserved! 4 more day of actual work, how excited are you? Medically, I am right there with you and GYN visit .. Funny how our lives are filled with doctors, testing, procedures and blood work. It does get better, and it appears that you are so close to that finish line.

Hugs and Strength .. You deserve it all

    First of all,
First of all, congratulations on your retirement! How wonderful for you! I agree with you, if eating the right foods helps, I'm all for it. I hate taking pills, too. Spinach, red meats and beans? That sounds easy to me!

    HAVE A STEAK
    Donna,

I was a vegetarian and actually a post on this board, don't remember (surprise, surprise)
who it was, but it was someone who had been vegan all her life but had to have meat during
    chemo.

My blood counts were so ridiculously low... even after the 2 months break for my mastectomy,
so when I read that post, I decided there and then to eat some meat during chemo. And sure
enough on my next weekly blood work my counts had really jumped up. So I am a carnivore
    again.

My son went to school in Salisbury
He graduated in December from Salisbury University. Are you going to go to Ocean City since you are that close? It shouldn't be too crowded now that the kids are back in school.
