Vomitting

My Mom has stage 3/4 cancer. She started chemo June 22, then July 12, then August 5th, surgery is scheduled for Sept 3rd. CA 125 counts are as follows 14,300, then 8,600 after first chemo, 6,800 after second and no results yet from 3rd treatment.
My question is this. Mom has hardly been sick to her stomach at all but this week she has started throwing up but only in the evening after dinner. Mom has also been doing a lot more over the last week. She is out shopping again, having visitors etc. Prior to diagnosis Mom was going through a very bad depression so she had not really left the house since February.
I am worried that she has begun to throw up. I am worried it means something like the disease is spreading. Mom was throwing up daily prior to her diagnosis but hasn't since she started chemo.
Ugh, I know I am rambling. Looking for reassurance.

    Kelly, the vomiting could be
    Kelly, the vomiting could be a side effect of the chemo, or it could be something else. Since her CA125 is declining steadily, it's unlikely that the Cancer is spreading. She might have a partial bowel obstruction. Ask her gyn/oncologist to check it out, especially if she has abdominal pain.

    It wil be ok
    It will be alright, be sure and tell the doctor about her nausea, they have great meds to keep it under control now

    Hello, Kelly, from a fellow caregiver daughter. My Mom was diagnosed 3c/4 in Feb 09, and she's still fighting.

    If your mother was vomiting daily before her diagnosis, she may have a cancer lesion or two on her intestines, which are shrinking with the help of the chemo. On the other hand, carbocisplatin causes weird stomach pains and sudden nausea, so it could be the cause, too. One thing I've learned is that it is very difficult sometimes to tell the cancer from the chemo, or, as my mother points out, old age!

    My Mom has always been extremely active, and slowing down for her chemo has been a hard lesson to learn. But with surgery coming up in a week, I certainly understand you Mom wanting to live it up. It's a huge surgery. Be ready to help.

    The vomiting could be a side-effect of the many different medications we find ourselves on.

    So, you may want to look into that as a possibility.
