Your mother had a spark and a sparkle. She inspired so many of us. I, too, can't believe I won't be seeing her latest words of wisdom.
Yes, she loved her family above all. You know you had a treasure. I'm glad that she's not in pain anymore, that she is no longer burdened by her ailing body.
Wishing you comfort and peace,
Alice
my deepest condolences.

.... I do not know what to type. My deepest and sincere condolences to you and your family.
I honestly feel that Heaven has a beautiful angel watching over all of us now and even though she has passed she will always be in our hearts. I kind of feel like we all have our own special gaurdian angel that will help give us strength when we need it and pass some prayers on for us.

Shana:
We are so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I was so hopeful that the doctors had something up their sleeve to help her, but, that was not to be.
A special gift you mom gave to everyone on this board, and I do mean everyone, was her gift of friendship. As a newcomer, she made us feel less scared of this disease, always dished out hope and encouragement, and was the first to be happy for someone with good news. Even when her own treatment was not going as well as she would have liked, she was the first to come on the board and tell someone with good news how happy she was for them. That is a true gift, you felt it in her words.
The next few days will be a blur and so very difficult but I hope you will come back to the board and let us know how your family is doing for we care so very much.

To Donna's Family:
I join you in taking comfort in the fact that Donna is no longer suffering. I know, though, that your family's grief is measureless. I certainly hope you find peace in your memories and in the knowledge that your mother and wife touched so many lives.
From her many posts here, it was clear that Donna possessed extraordinary qualities: true kindness, thoughtfulness and tolerance. Of equal importance, her ebullient personality was a gift that lightened the dark moments that come with a cancer diagnosis for many on this board. In my own case, Donna reached out to me and to my husband during times that were very difficult and I will always keep a memory of her kindness in my heart.
Above all, you should know how very many times her posts, both in bold statements and subtle asides, spoke of her love for and pride in her family.

Huggggs Shana, Chey, Zack and Tiffany!
I think everyone has pretty much summed it up here how important your Mom is to everyone on this Board. That doesn't help right now with how you all must be feeling as reality sets in, but down the road you will be able to read back here and learn that your Mom was a huge part of this community and helped so many people adjust to their battle with this disease.
I know your family will stick together and get through this very, very, sad time, but know that although your mom's body failed her, her energy and love will always be with you. No one can ever take that away and no one was loved as much by her as you kids were.
Take it one day at a time and celebrate on those days that you feel better... never feel bad because you feel you can smile or have fun with your friends again. Your mom would want that and the sooner you can feel like your old selves and be able to have fun again, the happier she will be to see this happen.
Hugggggs to all of you!

I am so sorry to hear this
Shana,
I am so sorry for your loss and will be praying for your family during this time. I too lost my mom to colon cancer (I am 27) 5 months ago and it was so hard to watch those last few weeks. Your mom is no longer in pain and I'm sure was blessed by the wonderful care your family gave her. She was a wonderful woman who gave so much encouragement to many on this board, including myself when my mom was first diagnosed. You can be proud that you had such a wonderful mom!
Much love and prayers,

I cant hardly type I am so $^&%#^ pissed and hurt, why does this have to happen....I miss her....
I wanted to edit this to let you all know how wonderful I think your mother was. I am so very sad today and will be for days to come. She was so important to me and to so many as you can see by all the post. I am a better person for having had the honor of knowing her. I know she loved you all so very much, please know that love will continue even with her being gone. Dont think you kids can get away with things either, if I know your mom she will be watching...*SMILE*
Take care, God Bless you all

Oh My
Dear Shana and Family,
I, like so many others have been truly blessed by your Mom. She has been everything to everyone in so many different situations. She has always spoken straight from her heart and that is what we all need here. What a precious woman. I know how much she loves you all and wanted to always be here for you. I also know that she will continue to live on in our hearts. When you look around you will see her beauty in all that is beautiful, you will feel her presence all around you. She loved you so dearly, she will never really be gone as her memory will always be with you. Another friend in heaven.
I am glad that she is no longer in pain and I hope you can forget the suffering and only remember the good times.
Big Hugs and Prayers,

Sincerest Condelences
Shana and family:
Thanks for your post to let us know. I just got in from the hospital and logged in and saw this first - I had to sit here a minute and then the reality sank in. Many feelings washing over me right now.
But, I just wanted to say what so many have already said - Donna touched so many lives and all of you in her family were her #1 priority and she loved you very much and told us how much.
It's still shocking and I thought this day would never come. I'll miss her voice and I'll miss her laughter and so many things about her. I know I was better to have known her than not to - she touched me in ways that I will always remember.
So, her Lion roars one more time for her - Donna, I love you!
Sincerest condolences to Wes and her children.

Sorry
Your mother was a great asset on this board and helped many get through some very tough times. She will be missed more than words can say. One thing is for sure, she loved you kids very much and was so proud of you. You should always remember the loving mother that she was. May God be with her, and your family during this time of grieving. You are always welcome on this board.
