Betty,
Keep on fighting for
Betty,
Keep on fighting for that insurance. Call your Insurance Commissioner and perhaps an elected official. I know of instances in Delaware where intervention from those places helped move the insurance from a no to a yes. Perhaps you have already done this but if not it couldn't hurt.
Unfortunately for us my dad is too weak to get the spheres and is only strong enough right now for the 5FU --- hopefully if he responds and gains some strength he will be able to do the FloFox in two months. Let me know how Layne responds to the FloFox. I will keep you both in my prayers.
Hugs,

Keeping both you and
Betty,
Keeping both you and Layne in my prayers. It is bad enough to have to deal with the beast...but then to have to deal with the insurance companies.....at times it is just too much.
Stay strong,
Jane
Betty,
Sending thoughts and prayers to you and Layne. Let me know if I can help in any way!!! I received my dose of "little magic beads" five years ago and know the excitement of hoping for the procedure and also the frustration of insurance.
You might also check out www.beatlivertumors.org. I helped to start the organization several years ago and there are many positive stories for you to read.

Hi Betty-
Are you seeing Dr. Nutting for the procedure? I think we may have corresponded about this before but my Dad had SIR-spheres with Dr. Nutting and we really, really liked him and all his associates.
Either way - I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Betty and Layne,
Good luck on the spheres and maybe a change of heart for the insurance company. Did you check to see if Nevada has someone who is in charge of insurance problems for people in your state? I have heard of cases where there is an intervention and the insurance company agrees. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Yes, we are seeing Dr. Nutting. We are still working on the ins company and we are old hats at the whole process of appealing and bringing in the state. Unfortunately, if they follow the "rules" in NV the state is powerless to help. It's wrong, but it is how it is.
We have a few things here left that we can still sell, and some other options, so we are looking at those for the cash. Layne has not felt well all week, but it could be just the heat here, which is OPPRESSIVE. Every time we step outside it is horrible. Just horrible.
Hopefully, we will be headed to Colorado very soon. Thanks for all the input and the well wishes. Love you all so much!0
