Hi all,
Just got back from chemo training and it was just great! Learned so much and I'm alot more comfortable about starting treatment. I got to see the Mediport that will be implanted and learned all about it. Looks like a purple beetle bug with a long tail. It will go in the left side of my chest...not the right side. Anyways, feeling u8p-;ifted today and ready for battle!...ha!
Love...Sue

    Hi, Sue,

Thanks for mentioning the education class that gives you more confidence. I have been feeling jittery and now do look forward to take that class this Friday. Actually, my onc decided to move my 1st chemo date earlier to this Tuesday. Tomorow I will have the port - alias, the beetle bug put in. Yeah, let's go for this battle!

    Hugs,
    Liz

    I'm ready!
    Hi Liz...
Wow..you ARE movin right along! Good luck with the port tomorrow! Seeing the port today was cool...the chemo nurse stuck it under a paper that felt like skin so I could touch it and see what it will feel like under my skin. She said I didn't have any fat where it will be implanted, so it might be a bit un-comfortable for me. Oh well...I won't be able to eat enough between now and next Wednesday to remedy that problem, so I guess my little "bug" will probably stick out some. I hope you will feel good enough Tuesday to share how your first treatment goes. I'm in a bit of a nervous mode tonight....sooooo much information to digest, plus hubby has gone to bed and this is always my antsy time...ha! Prayers to you!
    Love...Sue
P.S. Funny how things seem to go so slow and then all of a sudden everything happens at once...WHEW! Scary and exciting all at the same time! Never thought I'd use the word "exciting" with having cancer....too weird..huh?...ha!

    You can do it
    Hi Sue and Liz,
I know you both are nearing the day you begin your treatments. Before you even realize, you will be at the half way point and then at the finish line. I know that you will continue to guide us and support us as we journey along. And of course, we will be there for you when ever you need us.
We all share a part of this journey, and wish only the very best for both of you. Reach out when you can, I'll be listening....

    Sue,
Great for you! Knowing what is coming your way is half the battle. Rest, try and relax, and keep those energy levels up! You'll do just fine.

    Thanks Vinny and Dave....
    Thanks guys...
I've got 4 days before I have another medical appt(Port consult Tues)..Last night I mentioned to my best friend that I needed to use this spare time to get some cleaning done...next thing I know I had 5 phone calls saying there was going to be a house cleaning party at my house on Saturday. I'll have 5 ladies showing up here at 10:00 on Sat to vacumn, dust, mop, and do all of the deep cleaning that I just haven't had the energy to do. All I have to do is make them salmon salads for lunch. Hubby came home today and caught me vacuming. He said.."what the heck are you doing...the ladies will be here Sat" I said Yea...but I don't want it to be dirty when they get here!!!...ha!ha!ha! Tomorrow I'm not going to do a thing except prep the food to feed the gals their gourmet lunch. I promise to rest, rest, rest.. "AFTER" Saturday...ha!

    Good for You
    Sue,
Good for you, just a little mention of something turns things around. Having wonderful friends like that will make the days easier. Laugh, have get tothers when you feel good, enjoy the generosity of those that care about you. Even though these are some of the most trying times, like they were for me, they can also become some of the most cherished.
    Enjoy the "working" luncheon.
