Update on cancer- good news

I saw my surgeon today after being told by gastro doc on Thursday that I have cancer again after 4 1/2 years. Surgeon said the mass was little and in a good spot for laparospy surgery. He said considering the size and the likelihood it is a stage 1 there was no need for pre-surgery chemo nor did he see any reason for post surgery chemo either. He feels that the nodes will tell on the latter but the Pet scan came back clear so he is pretty confident. My surgery is on August 30th and he says about 3 days in the hospital to watch for infection and another 10 days at home and I'm good to go back to work. Still I am losing another 5cm of colon on each side of the tumor but it is nothing like the 10 inches I lost last time when I was stage 3 and a tumor the size of a plum. All in all with the exception that I was just "punked" and cancer was all a joke, the news couldn't be better.

Thank Goodness
So, glad to hear that it's nothing major, love the smaller scares better then the bigger ones. Although, hate any scares at all, truth be told.0
