It's finally happening. After 67 rounds of chemo, my hair is falling out by the handful. Oh well, good thing I have a pretty head!

    Purdy head huh???? Mine fell out after 2 treatments this time around...Now THAT sucks!!! Now you do know you have to post a pic of that "pretty head" :)

    When my hair started falling out I went to the barber and just had him cut all off.Good luck.But it grow back eventually.

    If you went 67 rounds without hair loss, you did well. I am glad you like your head! I lost most of my hair but now it is pretty much grwon in, but short. Take good care!

    Isn't it weird how losing your hair bothers you? It is harder to adjust to than I thought it would be, and I didn't lose but about half of it. At least bald heads are in style for guys right now. Jo Ann

    My John (JR) Lost his the first treatment of irriotecan. The Onc said it would most likly start on his second treatment and he wouldn't lose any facial hair. He lost everything. It kicked his butt too. He shaved his head so it didn't matter. He was so sick for ten days that's when he said no more.

    You look like you have a good head!!! Mine is lumpy. Good to read a post from you. Paula

    Not really
    I'm not bothered by loosing my hair. I'm just perplexed by the timing. Why now after over a year of continuous chemo? And 30 months of intermittent chemo. Does this mean my always stellar blood counts are gonna start falling? Who knows, I guess I'll see.

    Timing..... it's all in the timing.....

    It took me al these years to finally figure out how to do "something" really good,
    but now I look like crap, and the part doesn't work like it used to.

    It's all in the timing..

    You just might be on to something... If nothing made your hair fall out during all those treatments, but now it is... maybe it is kicking but over all rapidly dividing cells now - including the cancer cells!

    It is weird, isn't it? I'm impressed that you counted your chemo rounds- I've totally lost countof mine. I have icky hair now & under some longer straggly pieces that are down to my neck in back and much shorter on the sides, I now have a new crop of hair that's now about 3/4" long growing in. I haven't been able to bring myself to cut it all off- don't think I will. I've never liked the short hair look on me- always thought it makes me look older (I cut my hair real short in the early 90's and soo regretted it- it just "isn't me"). My hair has thinned a couple of times before, but not to this extent. My profile pic is a year old- I like that pic and don't want to change it to my ugly hair, lol, so I think I'll just leave the pic alone!

    Don't know what it means when it just starts falling out now for you! I don't know that it means your counts are going to take a dive too- just that the mix or buildup has been finally too much for your hair follicles.

    You're tough- hang in there- at least you're a guy and guys can get away with a bald head pretty easily. :)

    I'm amazed that you have had stellar blood counts. Has your body temperature been the norm as well? My husband's are fine but not always in the 'normal' range.

    I've been bald for years. It's a good look for a guy if you have a deacant looking noggin' and it is low maintenance. I've been told numerous times by the ladies that they like the bald look. Of course, there are others who don't go for it but that's just how it goes. I will say I have been stopped by women sometimes just because they wanted to rub my head and my friends and I used to joke about my head being a good luck charm. Go to Vegas and have someone rub your head for good luck. It may even help you to get better. Now you have something else to fight with in your arsenal. Why didn't I think of that for me? Right after this I am going to go to my room, do some serious praying, and rub the heck out of my good luck scalp.
