I am not sure which testimonials you have been reading, but I have been on folfiri + avastin since September 2009 + I have found it manageable. I have had fatigue, some diarrhea + hair loss but I deal with it. I lost most of my hair but then it started growing back, + now I have a short hairdoo with my whole head covered. It is powerful + effective; good luck. I hope you have minimal side effects. Take good care.0 -

Not everyone loses their hair on this chemo cocktail. My hair loss was kind of gradual, + mostly at the sides of my head. I had chin-length hair, + for awhile I just wore a hat or scarf. Then in Feb/10 I asked my daughter to cut my hair that was left really short. She did + soon after that I noticed the new growth. I bought a wig when I started treatment but never wore it. For a few months now I have just gone with the "short hair" look. I actually don't mind it, + it is very low maintenance - wash + go. Good luck!0 -

Re:
"l been 9 rounds on folfox with very little effects "
We all make our own choices, but if it were me?
I think I'd get another opinion regarding my treatments from
an oncologist that isn't part of the same group or organization
as my present physicians.
No-one should fear cancer so much, as to disregard their own
common sense. If something isn't working, why not move on
to something that might?
Wishing you a very long life!

Hey Pepe - I'm starting
Hey Pepe - I'm starting Folfiri tomorrow. I don't think we have anything to be afraid of as far as side effects are concerned. I expect it to be pretty crappy, but entirely manageable. My only fear is that it will not kill the bastards the same way folfox did.
Take care - Roger0 -

I know what you mean when you say you don't want to look sick. I don't think I really have, even when I wore a scarf or hat. And you may not even lose your hair or only a minimal amount.0 -
