As little as 10 years ago, you might have been considered in bad shape. Times have changed. As far as I'm concerned. Liver mets are the way to go. If your gonna get a met, get it in the liver. There are so many treatment options and the liver is amazingly resilient. If all you have is two little liver mets, you will be fine. If you aren't a surgical candidate, you have rfa and microwave ablation, there is embolization both with and without chemo. There is gamma knife, rapidarc, novalis, sir spheres and theraspheres. Other than surgery, almost all of these are easily tolerated. Good luck!0 -

Take a nice deep breath. No worries, okay???
I have mets to liver, my liver was originally considered non-operable or transplantable, but today it is.
The wonders of medicine.
If you read years old posts (and believe me, look at the dates on some of this stuff, world wide web stuff, you're reading, it's almost as old as Moses) then you will worry.
But from what I've read, these oldies (heh, heh, we won't mention I'm one of them) on this cancer board have been through the liver ordeal and are still here, alive and kicking.
So take those deep breaths, calm down, and know you'll be around to ask many more questions then we might have answers for in the long foreseeable future.

Re:
"I have read a couple of post where its been mentioned if you
get cancer in your liver that is it."
The liver regenerates itself, so they can chop and dice, and it'll grow
back like new. And there are tons of ways to kill cancer cells; chemo
and radiation are the only two ways that are usually suggested on
this forum. Don't allow cancer to scare you into -any- remedy.
Investigate, and learn about everything available, it's your life,
and only you can decide what's best.
Re:
"should l start writing a will?"
You should have a will made out anyway. Unless of course, you prefer
the government take it all, or your estate gets tied up in litigation forever.
We all hate to face the fact that we're not immortal, and it's too bad
that it takes a terminal illness to send us scurrying to the lawyers....
I too, waited until I could see the writing on the wall, and then, we made
out wills stating what our wishes were.
It's something that should have been done years and years ago....
We all worked hard for what we have; when we leave, wouldn't
it be nice if the product of our life-long efforts could continue on
with someone dear to us?
I will NOT allow all my junk and broken yard-sale items go to waste!

I had mets to my liver and had 1/2 of it removed in February! It has grown completely back and I feel great! New liver, so I had to baptize it the other night in tequila !0 -
Let's Go (away) Mets
and de-liver us from evil spots...
Like many have said, liver mets are not uncommon at all and can be dealt with through various treatment options. I had 60-70% of my liver removed. While the liver may not grow back to it's initial size, it returns to full functionality.
