intimacy during treatment?
After PET scan we learned tumor is still there, (decreased by 30%) They found it has jumped to the 2nd vertebrae in lumbar. So more radiation scheduled along with several meds. Prognosis is median 6 mos. Is it safe for us to have sexual relations? He feels very good right now, but is concerned about my contracting anything from the chemo/radiation/meds. Does anyone have any information on this for us? Thank you

Hmm
I don't know the answer although I'm pretty sure you won't get irradiated! Just...use protection - I don't know how far into the body fluids chemo goes. Maybe somebody else here does?
*edit - did a little googling - yes use condoms during the first 48 hours after treatment. The radiation is ok.0 -

For my husband and I, our "intimacy" is a very special aspect of our relationship. We were also told to use protection or abstain for the first 48 hours after chemo. What we found, is that in the 48 hours after chemo, we share tenderness, we hug and hold hands alot, I kiss his bald head ( he has extensive small cell lung cancer, diagnosed in April of this year ), he nuzzles my neck and caresses my hair! We usually have a pretty hectic schedule the week of chemo, so we nap alot and watch movies, alot for those 48 hrs. Once he has regained his strength, and we are very fortunate that he has had very little side affects to the chemo, and it has reduced the noted cancer by over 75% to date, we work very hard at resuming our "normal" life, to include the intimate aspects.
God bless you and your husband, and allow you both to enjoy all of the gifts He gives to you, each and every day!0
