Power Drink

I know most everyone has their own power food to help them with their hard times during treatment. I am sure they work for you or you wouldn't be using them. I have found the one that works for me is Ensure. It has all the nutrients required for the day in 3 cans. I never thought I would drink the stuff because I always felt like it was for 100 year olds. Sometimes I felt 100 years old. It did work for me and I feel it helped me during the treatments. Just thought I would share that with you all. I know I mentioned it before but with our Chemo brains it may be hard to remember, at least it is for me. Its terrible to be in the middle of a sentence and forget what you are talking about. John

My power drink...vinny59 said:drink
hey John, whats funny about this type of treatment is that I'm always hungry, I love to cook so that's what I do! My whole day revolves around lunch and dinner. Made Creme Brulee last night! My poor wife, she said I'm going to make her gain weight!!
Hi guys...
As you know I'm trying to put some weight on "before" I start treatment. Every morning I get up and have my one cup of coffee(cream &sugar)and then take my vitamins. About an hour later I fix a big glass of carnation instant breakfast and fix a piece of whole wheat toast with jam on it. Around 1:00 p.m. I drink another glass of instant breakfast with a sandwhich and soup I've put on 3 pounds so far and as long as I keep drinking the instant breakfast twice a day my energy level seems to be better or at least it's not getting any worse. My nutritionist said after I start treatment she wants me to switch from the instant breakfast to Ensure because like John said, it has great nutritional supplements in it, and it's an easy thing to get down when your tired and don't feel like eating . My hubby is like you Vinny...he loves to cook. Today he's fixed a big pork roast with carrots and potatoes in the slow cooker...YUM! The smell drifting through the house is driving me nuts and I can't wait to dig into it...ha! He has full plans to fatten me up before treatment and also during. Having a man that cooks is such a treat! Have a good day guys ...it's the weekend already! No plans for us...just chillin and being peaceful.
