Any news yet John?
Been thinking about your scan results...did you hear anything yet today? We are headed out this evening to a vigil service for a dear friend of ours who passed away suddenly on Sunday. It really caught me off guard and it's been hard for me to wrap my head around his death. He didn't have any major health issues for his age..(65).. the normal aches and pains in our age group, but nothing that would take him so suddenly and without warning. Just talked to him last week about my cancer as he has a son dealing with colon cancer. Gosh, he said he was feeling great and he looked just fine. It's such a sad deal. Anyways... maybe there will be a message from you by the time we get home this evening with good news. I could use some good news! UGH! I've been thinking nothing but good positive thoughts for you!

so sad
Sue,
I am so sorry to hear of your friends sudden passing. That is always such a shock and very hard to deal with. I lost my brother very suddenly about a year and half ago. He was only 51. I sometimes think that it is better to know in advance. It gives you time to say farewell and show your love for the person. A sudden passing does not allow for that. Hang in there.0 -
Good News!!!!!!
Got back from the center a few hours ago. The tumor in the clavicle area is gone. The tumor in the groin area is gone. The ones in the abdomen which were 5 and 6 cm., plus others in the same area are remarkedly smaller. The dr said they grade them as high as 21 for hyperactivity. Mine were a 9 when I was diagnosed, but today they are 3's. The dr was very pleased since I am only half way through treatment. They are shooting for 0 after the 6th treatment. Right now I only completed 3 treatments. Everything from head to knees are clear as far as any kind of new stuff.0 -

Sue, I was nervous as a cat this morning. When the Dr. came in the room he had a smile on his face. He began to explain everything to me and it made me feel better. By the way, depending on the size of the tumors may have an effect on the way you feel after your first treatment. The larger the tumors the faster the tumor meltdown should be. So if you really feel wore out and tired that may be a good sign. The first treatment really hits the tumors hard. It also affects the good cells as well, but the good cells regenerate pretty fast. They call it tumor lysis. It will tire you out. The dr. explained this to me before but I forgot about it. He said it was such a jolt to the body at first it tears you up. I had stomach aches every morning. Each treatment got easier after that but the tumors kept shrinking.0 -

Sue,
Did you ever notice when someone near you or even just someone you knew in your life dies that you recall memories that you haven't thought about in years? Its like they were lost memories that come to life after a tragedy. I know it always happens to me. John0 -

Yes John...a flood of memories have come to me since our friend passed. Found a bunch of pictures I shared with his wife yesterday that I had forgotten having. She sooo enjoyed seeing them and it brought a bright spot in her otherwise sad day. I'm also finding myself to be much more in tune when I read or hear about a death. It's like all of my senses are hightened and I get so much more emotional than I use too. I think having cancer changes us in more ways than one and life feels so much more precious...not just for ourselves, but for everyone, everywhere! I now find myself saying..."oh yes...this "CAN" happen to me" instead of thinking stuff like this only happens to other people....it's all quite the wake up call, eh? Need to make every day and moment count...for sure. Have a good day John...
