I am several months post-reversal of my ileostomy. After the initial retraining and re-awakening of the plumbing, things seemed fine. For the past 8 weeks or so, I am having much more frequent BMs, half of which are somewhat urgent. Not dirreah. Just seems like I'm always going back to the tthrone to evecauate it all.
is this wierd? normal? no bleeding or anything....My diet is varied, not ALL vegetables only or anything like that.
thanks
I'm going for my first scan in a couple of weeks (post liver resection) and I'm probably in anxiety mode.

stopped eating gluten
Hi when I was having problems, I stopped eating gluten and that really helped with the diarrhea. Diet is so important and our systems change when we've put it through hell. Try changing your diet for a couple of weeks and see if it helps. Nothing to lose but maybe a few calories from not eating pasta/pizza etc...

lactose intollerant....from the chemo/rads....
I stopped eating/drinking dairy. It made a HUGE difference!
Over time, I have added back a bit of cheese, now and again, but still can get into trouble if I over-indulge (I live in Holland part time, this country is known for it's delicious cheese...sigh...).
I agree with Jill that our systems are now different. I started slow after my surgery/chemo/rads...added something one thing at a time...sort of like what you do with a baby with their first solids...If I react, then I note it, and put it aside for awhile. 5 years later, I've got it fairly well identified, but occasionally will end up with an 'everyone into the pool' day where I am amazed at how much waste I carry in my bowel!! ROFL!

No colon at all here
No colon at all here, but that is beside the point. Have you seen the MD Anderson Bowel Management Documents? Google for them. One is great for retraining - it might give you some aid. Others are for loose stools, constipation and post takedown in general.0
