I had surgery at duke on Feb 2010 and I Had one cat scan in July 2010 that look good.

I am losing my health isurance the end of this month.

How often should I go and get a scan, can't afford often.

Do think it would be ok if I don't go.

What check or blood test could I do or should I do instead?

Have you contacted your hospital to discuss insurance options? Are there any state government plans available? I am sorry you're losing your insurance but it seems that there would be options out there that could give you continued coverage.

yes there is a state plan for high risk, 500 a month, and no co pays/drug and a 5,000.00 deductable before it pays anything. I don't know, I thinking about it but, pay 10,000.00 before it will pay anything. My job is not THAT great.

My daughter had lost her job and the family doctor's office had a new program that paid for her medical bills. I am not sure how it worked . May talk to the doctor treating you they may have a program?

    no insurance
My husband and I went to a chemo class our oncologist offered before chemo starts. It was mentioned that if anyone was having problems with paying medical bills that there were options. Check with your doctor office for programs in your area. There is help out there. American Cancer is also a good place to check. Stay in there.
