Gallbladder cancer

My mom was rushed to the hospital with pancreatitis and when they went in to remove the gallbladder, they found her in stage II gallbladder cancer. She recovers from the surgery and goes in for her first oncology appointment on August 19th to find out if it has spread etc. What are the statistics for a stage II gallbladder cancer?
My mom is 62yrs old, is a dietician so eats healthy and exercises daily. She has never smoked. I'm trying to look at the positives here.
Anyone have any answers?
Thanks,
Andrea

    could be worse
I'm no expert on gall bladder cancer, but my mother (who's primary cancer is ovarian) had her gall bladder removed this spring, so I had to learn about that. It's a rare kind of cancer (end of my knowledge), but stage 2 anything is usually highly treatable with a respectable success rate. Look over her shoulder to make sure she sees a specialist who knows what they are doing, and I bet things turn out fine. Could be much, much worse.

I too need my gallbladder removed
I am a cancer survivor after two major surgeries last summer, and now they want to remove my gallbladder. It's not due to cancer, but to gallstones from the surgeries.

Because my surgeries last summer were so complicated, they have left scar tissue all along my abdomen. This is going to prevent them from being able to do it laproscopically, and after the last year of being unhealthy recovering from surgery, I am opting for alternative treatments.

I am on month three of this holistic health diet and supplements to break down the stones and pass them through my bile duct. So far it has been unsuccessful, but we shal see.

Good luck to your mother! I hope for the best :)
