Biopsy didn't go too good
Anyway, when they brought me out of my dope stuper and I was straight enough to understand they said they had to stop the procedure. They said when they snipped a tad of the tumor I erupted in blood and they could not get it to stop. They think the Avastin could have had something to do with the excessive bleeding. They were only able to put 2 of the 4 markers in and they did not secure them as they had wanted....they had to get out of there because of the bleeding. Bummer.
SO.... they told me it is on record that those markers can travel throughout the body...going anywhere.... even to the heart and cause heart attack or the brain and cause stroke... oh isn't that just lovely news. They gave me cough medicine with codiene to hold off any coughing and told me try not to sneeze (not possible with the sinus crap going on) or make movements that could jar those markers loose.
IF those 2 stay in place they may still be able to do the Cyberknife..may not... may have to start over... they will be having a meeting of the minds on Monday to decide what to do with me. I have chemo scheduled first thing Monday morning...my last session til all the Cyberknife stuff is over...but now I don't know if I should go. The last 2 sessions I did throw up each time and I don't know...is this a movement that could cause the markers to come loose.... Guess I will call Onc Monday before treatment and see what he says.
How long does that Avastin stay in your system? They didn't give to me on 7/26 treatment so the only time I had it was 7/12. My nose still bleeding too.
Just wanted to fill you all in. I am sure it will all work out. Closing one door just opens another. It's all good.
It causes more wrinkles to frown than to smile...... so SMILE!!!

6 weeks
My onc, said he wanted at least six weeks between my last Avastin and surgery.
I'd think I'd call now and ask about the vomiting thing, scary.
Keep you chin up, and stay strong, you've got good attitude there girl.0 -
Sorry
So sorry to hear that you had to go through all that. Can't believe the forget drug either - wow what they have produced. You have been so strong through this and you will get through this too. Hoping for the best outcome for you and like the others said - keep your chin up.

I am sorry you have gone through all this cr$#! You don't deserve this. Your fighting spirit will get you over this hurdle. Thinking of you.
I had to be off Avastin for 4-6 weeks, preferably 6 weeks, before I could have surgery.
Hope all turns out well, I am sure you are paranoid about it all! I would be!

WTF!?
Sometimes I just can't believe how amazing and positive you are. I usually don't give advice, but right now I have a strong gut reaction. Screw chemo. Get strong for dealing with this bleeding thing. Get strong for Cyberknife. You can jump back to the poison as soon as you are done blasting this tumor. Either way, take care. No coughing, sneezing, jolting, barfing allowed.
Hopefully at the meeting of the minds they will agree to be a little more gentle with our precious Jennie. You can take it, but dang, give a girl a break!!

You have such a
Jennie,
You have such a positive attitude right now. That is great, especially with all you have been through latelly. Try to stay strong and things will work out. I will be praying for the markers to stay put. Be well and have a great weekend.

Jennie:
I thought you had to be off Avastin for about 6 weeks or at least 4 before having procedures. When I asked about a one year follow up for George for a repeat colonoscopy the oncologist said no due to the Avastin. Since his drugs were/are working well for him, taking him off for 6 weeks to do a colonoscopy was not a good idea.
Take care - Tina0 -
Biopsy
Mine was done through the skin but I didnt have the cyber knife thingy either, good old fashion cut you open. Which was no fun at all. I never had avastin, that I can remember, so cant comment on that, but just wanted to say I was thinking about you and praying for ya...

Admire you for your spirit, I'm sorry for how you've been treated, you deserve better. Praying for you and thinking of ya.
I know you don't feel like smiling right now, but keep it up, make everyone wonder what you have been up to. Maybe you will help those around you the way you help those on this board. Sounds like you are very lucky to be here. I'll pray that all goes well in your treatment.

but I wonder if the "forget" drug was Versed. Good stuff and they usually give it to anyone undergoing surgery.
Keep your chin up, Jennie. You're a fighter.
Sending good vibes your way. Hang in there.
