Not trying to force religion but this was a great message

I do not talk much on here about faith as I know there are many views and I admire so much all of you here and your struggles and triumphs. I have been really down lately and going through lots of why me and this sucks and there is no future...just too much negative thought. This podcast was recommended this by some friends in the surfing community. It was very helpful to me and I think some might find help in it as well. I am not trying to change anyones faiths or beliefs. It is just a spin on something that effects us all.
I do want to post a link that really helped me though from pastor Britt Merrick. A couple of background pieces. Britt is the son of famous surfboard maker Al Merrick. He was a pretty wild child but started a youth ministry. He has a 5 year old daughter who was dx with cancer. They thought they had it beat but it came back with a vengence. This is his sermon after finding out the second time that it came back. It is very real and powerful and focused on how in adversity you bond and not in success.

You want to view the sermon called Struck Down but not Destroyed from 7/18/2010 (the 4th one down).
The audio podcast is at this site:

It is the July 18, 2010 sermon.
I send this only with respect to all. It is 42 minutes and I found some good in it to turn my focus in a better direction.

Chip,
Thank you for posting these. I know it will be something that both **** and I will listen to. Thank you for also being so respectful of everyone. I know we can all share and let people choose what helps them through this journey.

I won't
I won't be listening to it, hate religious crapola, although I believe in a Superior Being and pray, I don't happen to believe in organized religion, or those that represent it, in the "in your face way".
I appreciate that you aren't one of those in your face, believe me I do.
And I think it's wonderful that you posted for those that do have that type of faith.
Don't hesitate to do so, for many, it represents hope and a feeling of belonging.
Hmmm, I think I said the above very wrong. What I mean is, when it comes to religion, if it's from a priest, a pastor, etc., I'm automatically tuned off.
But, I think that you should continue to post these things and know, those of us, that aren't overly religious, won't be the LEAST BIT OFFENDED, I think it gives many people hope, and I'm glad for that, and thank you for it.0
