Hi All,

Just wanted to let you know that I am leaving on vacation Saturday and we'll not be home again until the evening of the 18th. Today (Thursday) is the start of feeling overwhelmed with all the things I still need to do to get ready to leave. But, I know how people worry on this board when people don't post for a while, so I didn't want anyone to think something happened to me.
We're flying from San Diego to Chicago. We'll be sightseeing Chicago- even taking in a Cubs vs. Padres game on the 17th, seeing several different relatives- near Chicago and in Michigan. We'll be heading to Sandusky, Ohio as well to go to Cedar Pt. amuesment park and water park with the kids.
Anyhow- hot, humid weather awaits me, I hear. It'll be an experience for the kids- they're amazed that it rains anywhere in the summer, as it doesn't in California. We've had such a mild summer so far here in San Diego (doesn't even feel like summer most days- more like spring- I love it).
I may have access to a computer a couple of times at hotels, but am planning on taking a vacation from my posting :)

    we live south of Chicago and Cedar Point/Sandusky was always a stop each year when kids were growing up........great times. We have been trying to head the grandkids that way.

    The kids will love Cedar Point. Every year when I lived in Springfield, OH, we would make the trip up the Cedar Point. What Fun.

    Have a wonderful vacation, Lisa... and part of the vacation is a vacation from the computer! It will do the soul a world of good. Besides, everything you leave at home, including the computer, will be there when you get home. Meanwhile, you will have a couple of weeks to just bask in vacation mode!!

    Hope you enjoy every bit of your vacation - you deserve it. The kids will love Cedar Point - the place is huge. Yes we have very hot humid weather lately. These are my favorite kind of summers. Have a safe trip.

    We are definitely soul sisters! I'm on vacation with my family also. We drove down here to Charlotte NC to visit my sister and her family, but we're staying at Great Wolf Lodge. While we're here, we're going to Carowinds amusement park. I hope you guys have a great time. Enjoy and let us know all about your trip when you get back. You guys can see pictures on my FB page when I get back.

    you won't have to worry about an amusement water park..Chicago is drenched ..It has had rain and storms for the past 3-4 days...It should be great though when you get there...Say hi to Lakeside drive and state and rush street for me when ya get there...and you will see why the women are boss there..its a different world there...its fast furious and fun....Have a ball !!!.........Buzz

    Lisa, Hope you have a great, relaxing vacation. My daughter just got home from Chicago and she had a blast.

    Happy Happy Vacation. You will love Chicago, my daughter lives there now close to downtown and she works downtown. While there, if you can, Garrett's Popcorn, fabulous and you have never had anything like it. Get the mix of carmel and cheese. You will smell it a block away.

    Cedar Pointe was a stop every summer for us. I personally don't care for amusement parks but we went down every summer, spent the weekend. It is huge.

    Where will you be in Michigan? We live in Livonia, about 30/40 minutes from Detroit. Will you be near?
