Update on Dale

Hi everyone,

Been busy, trying to work, care for Dale in between the chemo tx, and twice per month trips to Tulsa for the treatments. Dale is doing well. We are going back to Tulsa from Kansas City for his third chemo tx on August 3rd. He has about seven days of severe weakness, numbness in his hands, and sensitivity to cold after each treatment. We have both been very sick with respiratory stuff that has had all the symptoms of whooping cough for the last eight weeks. I coughed so hard at work that I completely passed out cold. Woke up on the floor wondering where I was. That was a strange and new experience for me. I have never fainted in my life. We are better now, so we are hoping the next chemo tx will be some easier. Seems each tx sends him into atrial fib that lasts for four to five days and that is worrisome. We have both said that we are developing some very tough skin and are keeping the most positive attitude that we can. Thanks to you all. I have gained valuable knowledge and support from this discussion board. A year from now we want to join the NED group. One day at a time!

    You all are doing a good job. As to the cough, while not as severe as yours, my husband and I both developed a form of bronchitis this spring that lasted about 8 weeks. Doctor said it would. Most aggravating cough ever. I've never had anything like it. Seems this occurred in several regions of the States this year. Always something. Your positive attitude will help your progress.

    So happy to see your post! Sorry to hear that you were both so ill. That kind of a cough is a terrible thing to have to put up with. I usually get bronchitis once a year, usually between fall and winter. Glad to hear that Dale's treatments, yet hard, are going well. Yes, do continue to have that layer of tough skin, and keep your positive attitudes. You will need both to beat this cancer! Thanks for your update. We will be keeping you in prayer. Keep in touch.
