He's done
He almost came out in a wheelchair due to a dizzy spell after standing up from the table but after we got done talking to everyone, he stood up and was feeling better so he walked out.
Lots of mucus, throat pain, fatigue and just generally feeling like he's been pulled through the eye of a needle but glad this phase is over.
He has appointments coming out of his ears next week, speech pathologist, Rad Onc, ENT and Pain Management MD.
The mask is perched in a seat at our kitchen table. The dog is quite fascinated by it.

Please try to find the post where people describe what they did with their masks, quite an interesting, creative, often humorous, exposition.
In the meantime, congratulations to Glenn and to you! This is, of course, not the end but a new beginning. Even so, it is worthy of celebration.
Best wishes to both of you.
Take care,

Awesome!!! It is a hard event to celebrate because all traditional means of celebration are off the table...but find a way to celebrate this day...it is a milestone. Tomorrow starts day 1 of the next part of the journey...where hopefully with each week Glenn will show signs of healing and strength. My best to both of you...as you both have worked very hard to come to this day! Congrat!!

Joe, my favorite option for the mask has to do with firearms but Glenn wants to do something with it at Halloween.
He's already frightened a neighbor by putting it on when he got out of the car.
Kim, you are right. We don't know what to do with ourselves this afternoon. Maybe a little walk around the neighborhood when the sun goes down a little lower.0 -
Woo Hoo!
As you know, most of us did not start feeling better at the end of rads - we had to wait a while longer for that. That's OK - for me, it really helped to tell myself that I was no longer going through anything that would do more damage to my body. Glad he has lots of appointments next week - I felt kind of like a fish out of water with no treatments to go to. Don't get me wrong - I'm very happy now to not be at one doctor or another's, but it was a weird transition period. Do well.0 -

I'll say it again, that was the best day of my treatment, the last!!! Thoughts and prayers will be with you.

Congratulations!!!
Wonderful news!!! Now it's time for Glenn to rest and get his strength back but knowing he no longer has to go for treatment has got to lift his spirits.
LOL on the mask - I have 2 big Labs and they are both afraid of my mask.
My best to you and Glenn,
Glenna0 -

Yes, you still have a rough patch ahead of you -- but a very long and rocky road is now in the rear-view mirror. Hang in there.

for all the well wishes.
His mood is lightened tonite, just from being done.
For some reason (probably the copious use of Silvadene), the burns on his neck are improving significantly. At one point that was his worst pain.
Every little bit helps.0 -

Glad to hear Glenn is done with treatments. Might have another tough week or so, but he should be improving from here on out. Here's to a speedy recovery!
