New Flower update - I have survived my first week at my new job
Thank you for asking, I made it! My first week at my new job!!!.
The past two weeks were really intense: we moved, I change medications, and started a new job. I felt like I was losing my mind, so I ask my oncologist for Ativan (I got this idea from our earlier board discussion). Just two pills really helped.
My new colleagues are nice and friendly. Both the office and a laboratory are brand new, they recently moved to this location.I already one on one with manager who has very high execrations for me. I am very pleased with the way everything has been going so far.
My biggest challenges: lymphedema and hot flashes. While I have been wearing compression sleeve and glove on regular basis, I did not want scary people around at the beginning. I could not sustain without it. I had to put in on. Since I am on a new regiment (Zoladex & Arimidex) or because I am little nervous, I am having regular flashes while in the office. My solution to the problem - I went to the ladies room and took my blouse off. It made me feel so happy LOL.
I am swimming every day after work and was really exhausted by Friday night.
Hopefully next week will be easy and less stressful.
Wishing everybody nice and relaxing weekend,
Hugs

I'm SO happy to hear that the week went well, and that the new job is working out so well for you.
How's the commute from Torrance to Anaheim? And your husband's commute? This was a big change for both of you!
Good for you for working in some exercise every day -- keep up the swimming! It will definitely help with the stress, and exercise allegedly helps with hot flashes, too (I have yet to notice that benefit myself -- but I'm still trying!)
And hey -- if that doesn't work, go back into the ladies' room, strip off your blouse, and take Menda's suggestion and take a drink in there with you! That would certainly give your new co-workers something to talk about, no?
Big hug to you,

Yes, My commute at list 45 min one way, even I am driving in opposite direction that everybody. I guess there is no such thing as "against major traffic in LA. Crazy place! I am taking 91 East in the morning, poor residents of Riverside county have been parking in opposite direction.Still keep Ativan handy, just in case.0 -

Riverside, Corona, Anaheim Hills and Yorba Linda .. that take the 91 Fwy. It doesn't matter what time of day, day of the week -- there is always traffic -- did I mention that I paid $10.45 cents - 1 way on the toll lane - Yep, just a fact of life for those of us living outside the heavy busy cities.! HAHA
I am also so happy to hear that you made it thru your first week of work. I bet your head and body needed some quiet time away from the phones, computers and people. I marvel at the idea of getting back to a 'NORMAL' lifestyle.
Congratulations, and I can't wait to see you in August !!! at the Union or Re-Union - regardless - I will be there ..!

I hope I have not offended you by"poor residents".
On a positive note my office is across Disneyland, so when things are not going well I can always entertain myself.
Please take your time before going back to a Normal lifestyle. Nothing special about it, especially after you achieve this goal.0 -

New Flower, I am so happy and so proud of you! A new job, a change in your medications and a move! But, you did it all!
I am glad you got some Ativan, and, that it helped you. But, sorry about your lymphedema and the hot flashes.
Across from Disneyland? Nice! Your job does sound great and how great that you like everyone. Isn't it nice to move on with your life? You really sound so very happy about the way all has turned out.
I wish you the best of luck in your new job, your new home and your new life now! What do they say..."You have come a long way".
Keep in touch and know that I am rooting for you!
