I think many of us have felt this way but none of us have put it into words as nicely as you have. It's a shame we don't realize what we have until we are faced with a chance of losing it.
Take care

CHARMED LIFEPhillieG said:I've often thought of this.

I totally understand that statement, we tend not to see all that we have until the threat of losing it all is upon us. I refer to my pre-cancer years as my charmed life and my post cancer years as my blessed life. I am blessed because without a doubt I know who truly loves me and who will stand by me no matter what. As you know I am a breast cancer survivor and being on that board for several years it has become abundantly evident that there is a good number of women who lose their spouse when they get this cancer, mine has stuck by me through 3 battles and loves me more today then he ever has. Yes Phil there is some truth to what you stay. Thanks for the post.

When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you,
till it seems as though you could not hang on a minute longer,
never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.

Be nice to people, you never know what they may be going through. Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
My mom had these two in her office wall.
We cannot change the wind, we can only adjust our sails.
The man at the top of the mountain did not fall there.
And my personal one is:
Don't let worrying about tomorrow rob you of today.

Hi Stef,
I like all of those, wonderful! I have so enjoyed reading everyone's quotes, it is fun to hear what everyone finds inspiring. Chen and I were just chatting about you (were your ear's burning LOL!) We were in chat with other folks from our state and we were brought you into our convo saying you were also in our state.
Hope all is going well for you and yours, always wonderful to hear from you!

"Happiness is having aPhillieG said:JC (Joseph Campbell)
"God is a metaphor for a mystery that absolutely transcends all human categories of thought, even the categories of being and non-being - those are categories of thought. It's as simple as that."
"Happiness is having a large, close-knit, loving family~~~~in another city."
George Burns
"To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world."
"We do what we have to do, so we can do what we want to do."
"Even if I knew the world would end tomorrow, I would plant a tree today.
And , in an old interview with John Lennnon, he said that originally, Paul McCartneys words were:
"And in the end, the love you get is equal to the love you give."
It may not be as rhymingly poetic as the "make and take" ending we heard in the song, but I find it actually more poignant.0 -

I like "make and take" better.
And in the end
The love you take
Is equal to the love you make.
Other facts:
It was the last song recorded collectively by all four of The Beatles, and is the final song of the medley that dominates side two of the LP version of the album.
All four Beatles have a solo in “The End”, including Ringo Starr’s only drum solo for The Beatles.0 -

I like "take and make" better as far as rhyming goes, but not as an Inspirational Quote!
Much better for me to know that if I give love, I will get love at least in proportion to that!
As far as "make -take" is concerned, I like Bob Dylan singing "She makes love just like a woman...she takes love just like a woman....."
And yeah, I knew that about The End~ I wasn't a teenager in the 60's for nothing! LOL0 -

Hahaha I remember George Burns using that one I had just forgotten it thanks for reminding me!
The second and third quote and favorites of mine as well! I agree to you I like the "And in the end, the love you get is equal to the love you give".
So glad you decided to chime in!
