Just wanted to share

Hi,Ladies. I just wanted to share with you something I have done to promote awareness for this dreaded disease. I recently ordered 200, individually wrapped, teal silicone bracelets (the company was offering 100 free bracelets for every 100 ordered). Each bracelet has the words, "Ovarian/PPC Awareness" on it. In addition, there will be a ribbon on each side of the text. I don't expect 200 people to necessarily wear the bracelets, but I do hope having the bracelet will prompt them to educate themselves about these two cancers (I am thinking about attaching info. or a website to each package). When I tell people I have PPC, I have yet to meet anyone who has heard of this type of cancer. When I go on to tell them it is like ovarian cancer, very few know the signs/symptoms of the disease. With permission, I am hoping to give them out at work, leave some in my oncologist's office, and share them with my family and friends. My hope is that through these bracelets, someone may be spared a late diagnosis.
Good thoughts, prayers and hugs to everyone!

What a great idea - sharing
What a great idea - sharing the news via a gift :)

I, along with some girlfriends, will be doing a "Race for life" this Sunday and will be wearing Teal T Shirts with the logo on the back:

"Raising awareness of Primary Peritoneal Cancer and Ovarian Cancer"

Here in the UK "Race for life" is dominated by PINK for Breast Cancer so we will be a "blob" of Teal in a sea of pink!!!!!

I also hope woman are able to be aware of the vague and deadly symptoms of these 2 deadly cancers.

    Tina,

Good luck on Sunday... Hopefully, wearing your teal shirts will spark curiosity and conversation among women about these two cancers. Have fun with your friends :o)
