Newly out of stem cel transplant

June 16, 2010 was a day of miracles. As many of you know, I am a young mother of three small children and FEARED my upcoming autologous transplant. I researched, studied, analyzed, and PRAYED like never before! I was scared with the booklets my hospital passed out and honestly some of the horror stories I read. I just wanted those who are going through the roller coaster of emotions awaiting a transplant or has a family member going through this, please know I am here for anyone to ask questions or need someone to talk to. Be careful who you surround yourself with and take advice from. For me, MY FAITH got me through and I was honestly NEVER alone; HE was always right beside me. I experienced miracles in my hospital room that were absolutely breathe-taking!
I only had a few of the symptoms/side effects and those were tolerable with the great medication these days. I was released into isolation with a record-breaking discharge time as well as released from isolation very quickly. I followed what the precautions and orders were and again...continued to pray. My specialists are located in a well-known teaching university and were stunned by my progress. They said when I was just less then one month out of transplant, that I was doing better then a patient over six months out...I am blessed.
This site is wonderful, but also focus on the positive and know that every experience is different!! You are your own case! Thank you to those who were there with their hearts and prayers and continue to be there for all of us...amazing people you are!

Thank you so much for sharing your story! I am so happy for you and how well you are doing! I haven't even started treatment yet so to hear wonderful testamonies like yours certainly inspires great confidence in the medical community.
