Hi Everyone,

Following in Mary's tracks and taking the Zevalin. Sure hope I do as well as she did.
Mary, thanks for all the information you've posted on the Zevalin, it sure helped me understand the process. Can't say I'm not scared, but then I was really scared when I took my first chemo too. This is supposed to be easier, hope it is, and I hope remission will last a long, long time.

I've been checking up on you guys, but haven't written too much, cause it's always so late when I go online and then I'm really tired.

Hang in there everyone, praying for all of you.

    I'm a night owl so I'll be the first to say "Good luck" with the Zevalin. I haven't started any treatment yet so I'm one big scaredy cat all of the time. Sounds crazy, but I'm anxious to get started with any kind of treatment. It's got to be better than this sitting around and waiting routine. Plus...thats the next step towards remission wgich is the whole point of all this!. I'm weary with being so scared, but everything is still so new for me so I guess it's to be expected. Please share with us how the Zevalin works out for you. My prayers are with you...

    HAVING THE ZEVALIN
    I'm so nevervous I caN'T SLEEP. Took a sleeping pill at midnight and now it's 2:30 A.M. and not even a little shuteye. I understand what you mean by sitting around and waiting, after I had a needle biopsy, they decided it wasn't enough and they had to cut a hunk of the tumor out. Got an infection in that which sent me back to the hospital 2 times and it was three months before I started chemo. When I'm worried I generally take my bible out and read the Palsms. They are very comforting and there are many prayers there, that usually calms me down, so why am I here?

    I should try to sleep again, so I'll be in touch. Thx for good wishes.

    Oh I remember so well how scared I was! Thank goodness you only have a few more days to worry. When you get there you will find everyone to be so kind and supportive. You will have nearly one on one care from the nurses and they really know their stuff so ask questions. As I have told you I was pleasantly surprised to feel absolutely nothing when they injected the Zevalin. I think I had prepared myself for all manner of events occurring.Surely the lights would dim, the ground would shake and I would throw up right before I passed out!!! Well what happened was nothing. Sat there for an hour and still nothing. Then had a brief scan and was released back into the world just as I had left it. I hope and pray that this treatment is as successful for you and me as it has been for others.Time will tell. Again I'll be thinking about you,wishing you well and saying some prayers. Oh and don't worry about the sleep too much. When I got home from that first appointment I went to bed and slept like a baby for 8 hours...Mary

    Merry...you are just too cool!!!! I am sooo ready to start my recovery journey and soooo glad you are here to guide me through it. You take the scary out of being scared!

    Thank you for the kind words but I certainly get more then I give form all of you. It's such a major upheaval in all of our lives and the lives of those who love us and knowing others have gotten through really helps. Sharing my journey with others reaffirms where I was and where I am now,it's a long ways. So if I can help,even in a small way, I try to. Glad to hear you are ready to start and get the heck done already. Again as I and others have said it's not a walk in the park but not as bad as you imagine it to be. I would call it a very large nuisance. I'll be anxious to find out your game plan. All the best. Mary

    I did December 23,09, I did ok with it. You will be fine.
    The one thing I am always wondering if anyone ever relapsed after the Zevalin.
    I keep looking.

    HILDE, SO GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU. HAVE LOOKED FOR YOU FOR AWHILE AND YOU JUST UP AND DISAPPEARED. How are you feeling now, and have your numbers come up, it has been around six months. Dr. told me it takes 9 months to get backk to normal Just had the Ritoxin and tracer dose of Zevalin. It went pretty well, the nurse administered faster than I was used to and had a couple of reactions. The last one was creepy, I itched all over. She quickly gave me a shot of Benadryl and I was better in a few min. Tonight, however, I'm running a temp. Went into this thing sick and maybe I should have waited.

    She gave me Prednisone today also, so I can't sleep tonight although very tired.

    Hi Mary,

    It was pretty much as you described. I had Diane and she was just wonderful, such a nice lady. She did push the Rituxin in a little fast though and I had some reactionjs.
    Tonight, I have started to run a temp, and can't sleep. Keep wondering if I made a mistake. Diane told me some cute stories today about her life, I'll have to share them sometine.

    Feeling feverish tonight, tried sleeping,but to no avail. I can hardly read what I am writing. Best I get off for now.

    I'm so glad you posted about your Zevalin treatment...was wondering yesterday how it went for you. Sorry you are feeling feverish and a not able to sleep. I'll be praying for you to have a better night and can get some rest. Take care...

    Hello Britta:

    I am sorry you have a fever. Hope you feel better really soon.
    My blood work is on its way up, the wbc are only 2.7, so everything is a bit lower.
    I will post a bit more often. It sure does take a long time to get back to normal.
    I still feel very tired.
    I am first of all tired of the extreme heat. I love fall the best. I go back to my Oncologist September 1st.
    Hope to chat again soon , feel better fast.
