Sister has lung cancer

Hi azgrandma,

Just wanted to say hi and let you know that you and your sister are in my prayers. I too have nsclc with extensive lymph node and liver involvement. Dont give up hope no matter what. I was diagnosed in January and am now only on maintenance chemo. The tumor in my lung is gone and all the other areas have shrunk. My sister was diagnosed a year ago and just had another scan that came back clear. Keep in touch with people on this site. It really does help. Try not to listen to all of the statistics. If I did then I would/should be gone by now or in much worse shape that I am. Keep us posted and let us know how she is doing.

iam sorry youre sister has cancer ,but she can get throught it with youll on her side and god to watch over here and youre family i will be praying for her.i have lung cancer i just found out 9 11 09 iwas scared to death i was in shock,i thought my doctor had a plan hed did untill they took the bisposyhe though it was meloma when the pathigist report came back it was basal cell carcinoma from skin that mested from my leg 18 years agoand it is in my lungs .God has kept me here for a reason iam not through yet on earthyet.theirs only been three hundred case since 1895.so keep faith theirs know cure for mine.i have tryed to get into clinic trails but their all closed.but i still have my lord watching over me my doctor said if it had been ant other cancer i would have all ready been dead.i leave it all in his hands and i will pray for u and let me know kow u are doing. shirley

Keep Hope strong
azgrandma, as a survivor you know that this is no easy fight, but dont let this defray your strength. Keep Hope string and realize that we all go through up and downs. I was diagnosised in Ap 08 with stage 4 lung cancer that had mets to the lymphs. It has advanced in my case because I have a very complicated health status, but I have out lived every prognosis they have given. So dont give up, keep your sister surrounded with positive attitude and support. You, yourself, are proof that it can be beat back if not beaten to near extinction.
we prayer that your sisters white cell count gets up there better and that she regain her strength to battle this disease. Hopefully, you all are getting the answers to the questions you have, if not get pushy, it is up to your sister to make sure she knows all of her avenues of treatments and why one over the other. She should know what they expect the treatments to do, and agree, not just go along.
When I was first diagnosised my family had the Doc in there for over an hour explaining in plain english the whats, whos,wheres,whys,and hows, but everyone knew what to expect after that.
There are so many new trails going on and there is hope on the horizon, she and you cant afford to give up now. There is always the chance of things getting somewhat better, I am living proof. I have lived mor than 1yr pasted the longest prognosis, and I dont plan on going anywhere soon. Yes I am on Hospice, but I am still plugging away.
So keep your heads up and your spirits positive, there is always something positive if we look.
