Just stopping in to encourage those who are still going through the chemodrug treatments.
Those days feel almost like a dream to me now. Perhaps it was because I had hernia surgery which was more painful than the removal of the secum and cancerous mass. It took my body longer to heal b/c of all that it has endured with the chemo drugs in my system and the original surgery. I totally took it easy since I've learned to do that over the previus 6 months!
Had my colonoscopy which was great and follow up PET and CT Scan. Today was my first day back at the gym to walk on the treadmeal. It felt really good.
I do deal with mind to severe pain in fingers and toes (nueropothy) depending on the day and what I'm doing but I don't let it keep me from anything...I have conditioned myself to know that when I'm feeling the most discomfort that my nerves are at work repairing and growing back to a pre-nueropothy state of being!
It totally felt like I was starting over and it still does but I'm taking it one day at a time and giving myself the rest of the year for my body to be better than it was before the diagnosis... Why? Because WE WIN!!!!
I give God ALL the glory for the victory of the challange!!!!!
Blessings, peace, strength and victory to each of you!

Awesome
Love your attitude and glad that your testing is coming out good. As far as neuropathy still dealing with that. Sure glad that you aren't letting it get you from doing anything. Although this tingling in my fingers and feet can get very annoying. Sometimes my feet itch so bad it's a terrible feeling. Good for you and the exercise. Doesn't it feel good to be able to get back to that treadmill Glad for your good news.

By the way if any veteran Survivors have tips or experiences with nueropothy post chemo, please post! Thanks
Great news about your test results, I am so happy for you, love to hear when our friends WIN the race. I too suffer from nueropothy in my feet, never had the problem in my hands, but right now, just after getting up my feet are numb, and tingle, its weird. I cant sleep with my feet under the covers anymore, the weight of the covers hurt my feet. I stumble a bit more, some people say I walk with a limp, they are always asking me if I hurt my leg and when I asked why they would tell me it looks like I am limping but its the feet. Anyway I have been 13 months out of chemo (had almost 2 years of chemo) and its still a problem for me, it has gotten a bit better, that is true, but its still here, one day I hope its gone, but its a small price to pay for the cancer being gone..so I will take it and move forward..
So glad your healthy
HUGS

It really helped lessen the neuropathy; I was amazed at the effect! I was taking 600+ mg/day. I was also advised to take Glutamine, but didn't get a chance to get started, as I had my hernia surgery.
I started getting massages a few weeks before my hernia surgery, and the foot work helped enormously, too, to the point that I'm no longer taking supplements for neuropathy.
Btw, I'm currently recovering from my hernia surgery - 4 weeks out and still in lots of pain. It's been a long 4 weeks - seems like it should be 8 weeks by now.
Good luck!0 -

Thanks for checking in and sharing your good news. It must have been great to get back in the gym. I hope you get some relief from the neuropathy.
