lower back pain not cancer because goes away with mortrin!

hi sisters,

probably alot of you already know that if you have some pain somewhere that disappears when you take motrin, advil, etc., it's not cancer. i was beginning to worry about my nagging lower back pain, and kinda remembered reading something about it not being cancer if it's responsive to ibuprofan, etc., but wasn't sure. my acupuncturist, a two time cancer survivor, told me today of her many experiences, professionally and personally, with this very issue. so, just thought i'd let everyone know in case there's someone out there who, like me, wasn't sure of this. nice to know, i think. again, not every little pain is cancer.....

    Thanks for the information....good to know. I've had a pain on and off in my pelvic area and oncol claims since testing coming back fine it's not cancer. Then was wondering what it could be??? Hubbie and I both contracted poision ivy and ended up on prednisone (steriod) and 2 days after being on the med the pain was gone. Gosh never figured it would help my pain...turns out its helps with inflammation and my doc now claims I've got arthritis in this area.. Nothing like being reminded I'm getting old. Thankfully it's not cancer, as I can deal with arthritis.

    Thank you so much for your post. On bad days I tend to think every little twinge is a harbinger of doom - it's really nice to be reminded that just because I HAD cancer, it doesn't mean that every little pain IS cancer.

    hi jan,

    i was thinking re: your post, that there's nothing i'd like more than to be able to grow really old; feels like a luxury at this point instead of just a normal, ordinary, predictable way of life. may we all have the good fortune to grow old.
