How to find a Gyn Onc
Someone may post a personal experience from Fox Chase.

Here's some information that will help you be proactive in doing research for finding a doctor for your sister. It has been recommended to me to only work with a board certified gynecological oncologist. Some gyn oncs are surgeons, some are medical oncologists, some do both.

U.S. News Best Hospitals Data: Cancer

    Fox Chase is rated #28

A proactive method for finding a good doctor and checking the doctors at a hospital:

Find a Gynecologic Oncologist – this is the referral link from the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists, a professional organization
    http://www.wcn.org/findadoctor
Type in your zip code. Fox Chase zip code is 19111. See The Society’s Membership; not all board certified.

American Board of Medical Specialties – free registration. Worth it!

Check that your doctor is board certified in gyn oncology.

Gynecological Cancer Patient Care Team at Fox Chase

Here is the list of the Gyn Onc team at Fox Chase. Check above websites to see if they are board certified. Note: FACOG stands for “Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists” meaning they are just OB/GYNS; must check if they are board certified in gyn oncology.

Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine License Verification

Check potential doctor license verification here. Check how long they’ve been in practice and if there are any complaints. Some state boards list complaints.

Hope this helps. Best of luck. Keep us posted.
